2006 CLK 350 or 500?
Hi all,
Im interested in purchasing a 2006 CLK 350 or a CLK 500. Any suggestions on which is a better car as far as dependability goes? Is the 6 cylinder engine as dependable as the 8? I guess overall I want a trouble free car as to the gas mileage, based on what I've read so far it does not seem to be much of a difference according to the EPA estimates. I think both cars have the same transmission and based on pictures I guess the 500 seems to have bigger brakes maybe? Also, is it worth buying an extended warranty?
I would really appreciate if someone can fill me in as I really do not know much about either car but I really do want one.
Thanks!
Aaron

2006 CLK 350 or 500?
Any suggestions on which extended warranty company to go through or does one just go through the Mercedes dealer. Also any idea on how much an extended warranty costs?

I would go with the 500 if you can.
For extended warranty, if your dealer is offering a good deal on it, take it.. unless of course you find a better deal through a good, reputable company.

I am looking to purchase a clk 500 within the next two weeks. Now the thing is I want the clk 500 amg, but than I realized it's not really an amg, the clk 55 is. It's tough to find any local clk 500 amg(ny) most of them are 350/500. So now I am deciding between 500/amg/clk55. I am looking to spend 25k

In 2005 I bought the 2006 CLK 350 when it came out and the 550 was not out yet. Although the horserpower figures between the 350 and the 500 are not all that far apart, the 500 is going to be more fun to drive as it has more torque.
At that time I test-drove the 2006 CLK 55 and loved the way it sounded and handled but the ride was too rough for my commute and the (new) price was over my budget. As a car that is not a daily driver the CLK 55 would be really great.
