I own W211 and 323i. The W211 is very nice to drive and relaxing, not sporty, kinda hard to turn in tight corners due to it's big body size. The 323i is far the best handling car i've tried so far pass that C class and IS but not so relaxing, the 330ci will definitely be a lot more fun to drive than 323i. I dunno about the W209, in here, they compare the CLK500 with M3 and of course the CLK lose from M3 in fun factor but not that much though. In summary, i think w211 will be the least fun to drive, 330ci will be on par with the w209.

If i were you, i'll definitely get the CLK, Very good looking eventhough the interior is a bit "C Class" like. I saw black CLK with 19 inch carlsson and it's so damn fine (sangar ), make me regret for taking the w211

I currently have a CLK500 and a 330xi with sport package. I recently got rid of a 540i which came off of lease. I can tell you that the CLK500 is alot more fun to drive than the 330i. Power delivery is much more exhilerating with the CLK. My 540 was very powerful also but the CLK500 seems to be a tad quicker. As far as the W211 is concerned, I have not driven it therefore I cannot form any opinion. If you are considering a CLK320 than maybe you should check out the new 330i with sport package and there is a option that offers additional 10 horsepower to boost output to 235 hp. I purchased the 330xi to deal with inclement weather conditions and so far it has paid off big dividends. I am sure that my CLK500 would not fair as well in snowy situations and that is when the Bimmer comes up big. What ever you decide to do, I am sure you will not be disappointed in what ever choice you make. Happy Trails.

not sure about the w209 but i can tell the 330ci kills w208 in handling. i used to have a clk430 the handling isnt really comparable with the bimmer.

I was very seriously considering making the W211 my primary car until I drove the E500 for nearly two weeks. Frankly the steering was way to vague to me. It seemed slow and lacked centering. The electronic brakes were also annoying but I'm sure i could get used to them. I really wanted to like that car but simply couldn't. My wife who prefers 4 door cars even felt the same. We have had two W208 CLK's and found the handling to be excellent. I now plan to get a W209 and hope we like it as much. I have no experience with the BMW so can't comment there.
