So I was looking for a AMG airbox for my CLK500 and came across a intake system. IMHO it looks fantastic. I was thinking of doing a custom setup simaler to this, but this just takes out the dirty work! I plan on buying this so let me know what you think?

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
looks cheap....anyone can make that setup, going to your local home depot...
Get a CF airbox, it will be 5x more expensive but it works...and looks 10x better.

your going to be sucking in hot air, dont be fooled by these ebay gimmicks. if you want to upgrade your air intake purchase either green or k&n filters. Theres also the renntech carbon fiber intake.

if you really think about it, our setup is already done up well. The m5 airbox look-a-like will not work with our layout because we do not have dual throttle bodies. We have a single large one...
Best setup would be to have the rientech box that has a bit more of plenum space.

The renntech box is 3k the is worth 20k not a good investment. Thats why I will try to get IAT temps with the stock system. I would make a custom system with K&N cones, autozone piping, clamps and ebay heat shields. I will measure IAT's after if I see a drop I keep the system if they go up I go return the parts. What I have to do now is find software that I can download so I can measure the IAT's (intake air temps) through the OBD-II port. This could all be done on a vw/audi through Vag-Com. I used my Vag on my audi all the time to play with little things.

If I remember correctly, you can. I have a EU702 tester that can read this as “live data” while running. I’ll check next time I have the opportunity!
Among many parameters, also the TP (Throttle plate) ie. if it is 100% open at full throttle! I know that the AMG 6,3 engine in the C-class have less HP that the other models using the same engine, because AMG don’t open the TP fully in the C_class when applying full throttle. This can be fixed with an ECU upgrade!
