Suspension question
I got 60k on my car now, i def need to replace my shocks and struts as it for sure does not feel the same as when i got it almost two years ago. I need some advice and personal suggestions. from reading this board for almost two years now it looks as if the safest bet when dropping one of our CLK's is to go with Bilstein shocks and H&R springs so thats what I am thinking of doing. if anyone has any better suggestions please feel free to add to the thread. Also I am not planning on getting rims as I will soon be a full time student and can def spend my money more wisely on other things (like bills LoL). Do you guys think my car will look corny riding around dropped on stockers??? by the way i have an 03 CLK 320 with the stockers on. I dont wanna ride around looking like an idiot so some opinions here would go a long way.

I have a complete set (front & rear) stock shocks from a 2006 Clk 500 with about 10K miles on it. E-mail me if you're interested.
you cant go wrong with bilsteins and H&R, i have H&R srings but not bilsteins yet. I have heard only good things about this combo, never a bad thing. However, some people say that if you cut a coil on your lowering springs then get konis not bilsteins.

ITs not an easy task. I had to find a friend with a press to get the struts off. Most spring compressors are difficult to get between the spring and the strut to remove the top allen/socket. Its quite a dangerous task if you dont know what you are doing. I would not recommend if your not experienced or have the tools.
The strut/spring assembly can be removed from the vehicle in one piece, without the need to compress the spring. Once it's off, then you need to use a three-point spring compressor to separate the parts.
