My car had a musty smell when I bought it, so I ran down those filters and the dealer who sold it to me must have already changed them out because they were clean and white as snow. So I Fabreezed the crap out of them (like dripping) and within a couple of weeks the car smelled like new.

I changed out my cabin filter (or actually I found them and took them out and looked at them). Yes, on my 2004 CLK 320, and as I remember, there are two of them and I was thinking you access them from the passenger side footwell, but I also remember taking that gizmo off on top of the battery. It's only been about a year, but I'm real foggy on it anyway.

MBWorld Fanatic!
i could see changing every 100k or so.
i mean as long as your engine isnt overheating it should be fine. right?
a buddy of mine goes to the track and they advise him to put mainly water instead and a bit of coolant a) coolant is a ***** to clean up at the track and expensive and b) at least here in the west coast (bay area) it doesnt get too hot so it should be fine. climate is relatively cool and below 80F outside lol
