Stuck CD
How do I remove a stuck CD cartrige from the six CD changer in the glove box of a 2003 CLK 320? The radio states there is no CD cartrige in the player and a CD is stuck and will not retrack. The cartrige will not eject..

You have a W209, right? I reckon that you'll have to get the CD changer unit out of the glovebox, and then get the cover off on the bench.
I took a look at my WIS and it seems very easy to get it out. If you're totally clueless I'll post some pictures.

Stuck CD

I removed the two screws on the right side of the unit in the glove box but the unit would not come out. I will place a mirror under the shelf to see if there are other screws which need to be removed?
Any information or photos you can provide would be great. Thanks

OK - btw welcome to the forum. Why don't you add a few details about your car/location using the UserCP ^^^
Now this instruction is for installing a new CD changer, so you will have to do it backwards, ie No 7 first, and work back to No 1. Here are the pics. Click over to expand, and use your screen magnifier as well.

The CD player is fixed. I removed it from the car and had to take the front cover off then remove the top. You can see the stuck CD from with the top clam shell cover off the unit. Be careful not to damage the fiber optics. I then pluged the unit back in to the power line and moved the plastic gears by hand slowly which freed the unit to cycle the CD back into the cartrige. I then pressed the eject and the cartrige came out. I then turnned off the car and removed the power line. Afterwhich I carefully put the player back together, again be careful with the fiber optics. It was then re-installed and now works correctly. I will no longer use CD's that I have burned and placed labels on.

Well done... and saved yourself a few bucks by doing it all yourself. I knew that if you got the unit out, you would probably figure out how to free-up the jammed CD.
btw, my OM does warn me not to use DIY discs in the player but like most of us, I do....

Stuck CD, Now no CD player
I've got a similar problem, I went to use the changer and it made some clicking sounds and gave a couple errors. After the errors were done the command unit no longer shows that I have a CD changer. Anyone happen to know, if I take this out, get the disc's out and put it back in, is there a way for me to detect this again without going to the dealer?

After taking out the changer and trying to open it I gave up.. put it back in the car and connected the two wires, turned on the car and HEY THE THING EJECTED AND NOW IS WORKING AGAIN FINE!. ... Note to anyone else, if your changer malfunctions and is no longer detected just disconnect it for a little while, connect it back up and start the car.
