Linhs tips are OEM tips. Tips can only be purchased with a full muffler/exhaust system. AMG tips are rare to find alone, but I believe Steve can get the separately (one member in the W211 section ordered a pair of tips for $300 shipped I believe). Stay away from the ebay ones because as you said they're much smaller then the OEM ones.

The only car that I know of you can buy the AMG tip alone is the 2000-2002 CL 55 (I owned). The problem is, the old AMG tips are much bigger then the new AMG quad exhaust tips. But I think you can definitely make it work. I believe the price is around $100-$150 ea. Here's the pictures so you can see the different in sizes.

1st pic - Original factory dual AMG exhaust.

2nd pic - Aftermarket quad exhaust tips (look cheap)

3th pic - Is the factory AMG quad exhaust system from the CL 55 SC engine.

4th pic - With hooked up discount from parts manager, it still cost me $2800!

Yes, if you take a single AMG tip from the 2000-2002 CL 55 and a single tip from the W211 E55 and compare them.

Wassssssssup, the Ricker !! Hmmmmmmm......you got short memories. I did told you about that I regretted spent $2800 on the AMG factory quad exhaust system. I actually like my aftermarket quad exhaust style better because the tip look bigger then the factory AMG tips, remember now? The only reason why I decided to spent the money on the real AMG exhaust because the aftermarket tip slowly turning yellow. See ya on the 16th !!!

The W211 tips are the ones that you want to use. They are also the same as the CLK550 tips, but bigger than the stock CLK500 tip (one tip muffler).
