linky no worky, I say cls its so dam sexy but it all depends on what you want, if you want sporty agile gran tourer style coupe go for the clk. if you want a looker but are willing to sacrafice mpg handeling stoping power and whole "sporty image" go for the cls.

Very well said. CLK is more "sporty" while the CLS is beautiful yet "boaty". I was in the market for a CLS500 but when i reolized i could pick-up a CLK550 for the same price i went for the CLK, better engine and more "fun"...although i wont have the sexy lines of the CLS.

I still think that the CLS is a very good looking car but when it came out I went down to the dealer to test drive and it was disappointing: the CLS is a bit of a tunnel inside and the CLK is much better-handling. I recommend a test drive to see which one fits your needs.

CLK500 Cabrio 2005
I went to my dealer with the intent on buying a CLS. Turns out I bought a CLK 500 cabrio. CLK is just so much more enjoyable, unless you need to transport more than 2 people most of the time.

CLS400 4Matic 2016 / ML 350 2009 / clk 320 w209 sold/ sl 500 1996 sold/ cls550 2008 sold
well I have a clk 320 and a cls550, but I already drove my buddies clk500. I would without any doubt go for the CLS. Its much better equiped, nice lines, gives you a better image than driving a clk. But at the end everyone has his own opinion. And I guess that you wont be able to choose until the last moment when you'll be in front of the two cars. Your heart will choose for you. that what happened with me... good luck

Okay so Eff Morristown Mercedes! Check this ish out!

They were only gonna give me $12,500 trade in value on my 06 C280 4matic with 32k miles. In addition to that BS the best they could offer me on the 06 CLS w/36k miles is 8.49% financing with $20k down payment and monthly payments of $400 for 66 months!!!!! The car was only stickered at $36,900

In other words, eff that noise, what a load of

CLS VS CLK

In this very bad economy, all MBZ that are 3 years old are now worth about half their retail selling price when new... so the pricing is about right.

But the Dealer should have give you a better interest rate to close the sale, but apparently he is not hurting enough just yet... well, wait until the end of the year.. it's a buyer's market... then he'll come begging!

I went from an E-class to the CLK (C-class) because I don't use the back seats which are not for adults. The CLK is much more fun to drive than the E-class (CLS) with the new 350 engine as 80% of the 268 HP and torrque is developed within 2000 RPM. Also very easy on fuel compared to the V8. If you are a Driver, then this is your car.

But the CLS is definitely more sexy with the long flowing curvy lines and if adults will be sitting in the rear seats, then this is the car to get, hands down!! Also the bigger car is Safer than a smaller car.

That said, I will repeat what others also stated... You must spend time in each car and drive them under all conditions... then you will know which is best for your situation and decide accordingly.

You can also call up another dealer and talk to the manager directly, he might be more desperate and give you a better deal.

Please let us know how you make out... Good Luck....

I was at my dealer Saturday for a car wash. my salesman told me overall business is only off 10% over previous high marks. The fact is most people that can afford an MB can buy it whether the economy is good or bad. The rules of buying and selling don't necessarily apply to luxury cars in some markets. Add to this the advent of the CPO cars and it changes things more. My dealer keeps asking me to sell back my CLK500 as they have several new 550's, but customers would rather have the CPO 500 at a significant discount. There is not the incentive to sell the used ones for a big discount. I love my CLK500 and there are only a couple cars I would trade it for. An E500/550 would be one, but all they have is a wagon. My little brother has a C63 and that is wicked, but I like having the CLk as I don't see one around every corner like you do with the new C300/350/63. The CLS is a sweet ride, but I see so many driven by ladies. I don't see as many ladies driving the CLK. Both are better than ANY japanese car though so keep watching that car The price may come around. I watched mine sit on their lot for 48 days before I got my price. It was not easy to do, but I knew they would take my offer over what they would get at the auction.

o6 cls would cost about 70% more than an 05 clk right? so it also depends on money issues
