Hey guys,

I got a dilemma and need some feedback. I have a choice and same price on these two vehicles. WHats a better buy including thoughts on cost of ownership, performance, resale value, reliability, mpg, etc...

04clk500cabriolet with AMG package, 20k miles and warranty until 100k or 2013

or

05clk55cabriolet with 33k miles

Main difference is the AMG on the 55CLK is full AMG. You will have the AMG sport package which is bumpers and skirts, fogs and such but you wont have the motor, brakes, suspension and so forth. Does the 55 have a warranty? That would be a decider for me. Otherwise I say the 55 for the performance aspect.

No warranty on CLK55
but I just found out that clk500 comes with Driverz Edge aftermarket warranty....not sure if it's actually worth anything....

CLK 55 is all-around a better car and this one is a year newer than the clk 500 you are comparing it to.

I literally had the same dillema ! ... 04 clk500 vert amg pkg vs. an 05 clk55 vert. no warranty

04 has an aftermarket warranty as well. I drove both and the piece of mind of a warranty .. whatever they cover was the deciding factor. I rolled the dice on my Boxster S with no warranty and was pretty lucky. I dont want to take a chance like that nowadays. ( maturity? )

To me , its 85% of the car the 55 is , less price and a warranty. I'm glad I chose the 500.

Well, I pulled a trigger on 05 clk55. Its awesome!!! I am buying an aftermarket warranty for $3K which will cover me till 100k miles or 4 years, whatever will come 1st.

It's Dark Blue color. I have never seen that color before...does anybody know anything about it?

congrats nice choice. did not know the 55 came in dark blue. i have seen a basic blue, silver, black, white, and i think that is about it.

Well, is that color rare or custom? I have never seen another one like it?
it's realy dark blue, at night or in the garage it looks black....
