Bodykit Upgrade: Lorinser Vs. AMG

Hey guys,

So i'm in the middle of upgrading my 350 06 into a new bodykit. Here are some questions that i had.

I have found a lot of replicas online for the AMG however the styles are starting from 05 to older. I wanted to get the chrome rings since i really do not like the plain look the 05 amg body kit has without it. The question is, is it possible to get 06+ Replica that has the round fogs with chrome rings? Or is it possible to find Chrome rings to fit the 05 AMG Kits.

I also need you guys to vote if possible which one would you prefer better. I got quoted $5,000 for the original AMG Kit with all the whistles and bells. And i got quoted $6,000 for the Lorinser. This is without paint.

I honestly want to get a replica which is where my other question comes in. How many of you guys had problems with replica? I'm afraid that it breaks easier and the fitment will be impossible. Any advice??

Thank you for your help

Hey,

I actually got my 350 with 36k miles for $20k so i have some room to move around.

I like AMG also but i dont like the replicas and i dont want to spend 5k on original. I just want to know if you can put chrome rings around the replica fogs and if they come with it.

Thank you.

Also, i will be selling the bodykit of my 06. Its the udpated look, it as a few dinks here and there but with $400 you can fix that up easily. Ill post in the classified section as soon as i have decided and finished the work.

See what sucks is that there is no replica for the updated look of the amg front bumper and the older one is ugly. Another problem is, i see tons of the amg clks down here in new york. I only seen a few of the lorinsers so its all about being unique and good looking as well. Take a look how many members here have amg kits, especially because they come standard on the 500 and up

I like the Kleeman or Brabus much more than Lorinser. IMO Lorinser is kind of ghetto looking. The Lorinser front end is just ugly to me. I think the AMG is nice.

Alright,

So can anybody help me out here. If i'm to go with the AMG, i love everything about it except the front because it is outdated. Does anyone here have a connection for a front replica ranging from year 2006 and up?

Or does anyone know where can i get the chrome rings for the AMG kit that is from 2003-2005?

Take a look:

2003-2005

Just buy the fog light from 06 because they are different one is oval the other is round and im pretty sure you can get the chrome rings too.

But doesn't the kit come with precut mesh grille? Or do i purchase that separately aside from the kit. Does anybody know if the 06 mesh and fogs will fit the 05 bodykit?

Damn, that Lorinser front bumper is uglier than my Brabus Replica bumper

Replica's are replica's and most of the time are not exactly what you are looking for as far as fitment. It is almost always better to buy the original since you might end up spending as much just to get the replica to fit.

As far as your dilemma is concerned, try to get the dimensions on the 03-05 bumpers fog light area and compare it to the 06-08 bumper. If it is the same then buy the 03-05 kit (or if you have it already then use it) and get the VIN for an 06-08 CLK (with the fog lights you prefer) and buy the mesh and foglights and "chrome rings" then install them.

Thanks alot for the info, do you by any chance know where i can find out the size without physically having the part at hand. I need to know the size for the 03-05 kit, the mesh size, bezels, and fogs.

On the other hand, after speaking to a few people i heard the stories that people had to go through and how much they paid for the labor only to have a replica fit.

Does anybody know where i can the original amg kit for somewhat of a reasonable price. IS $5000 a good deal or no?

^5000 is good price for new painted and intalled amg kit... i was thinking to get either brabus or amg kit, but brabus cost less than AMG... so i'll go with brabus, now i'm trying to save up some money

That would be without paint, that is why it will cost me extra in the end.

Have any of you guys dealt with visracing? They seem to have the new replicas off the 06+ amg body. http://www.visracing.com/newcatalog/...h-Front-Bumper

Anybody dealt with them or purchased this bodykit there?
