Extended Warranty

Question for all you clk owners

I am reaching 80k and I thinking about getting extended warranty on it up to 100k. The question is if it's worth it.

Would I need the warranty for any major issues that I might have after 80k that might be $$$$$????

I dont know about major issues but to me it would be worth it. My car only has 36K on it and I just took it in because the headrest was screwing up. Issue with the motor or the electronic part dont remember but I am covered because I got my CPO. I say spend the extra money just to have piece of mind.

mercedes can only offer warranty at point of sale... therefore you cannot purchase an extended warranty from them.. u have to go with an aftermarket warranty

I bought the aftermarket for my CLK500 yesterday too. They called the "Platinum" and it was for 3 years/42

your car reached 80k? have you flush your transmission before? I heard many people say should be done at 50k and others say it doesn't need it... Have you done it yet? It's kinda off topic, my bad.
I always get the ads for extended warranty, but they don't show the price and I'm too lazy and broke to call. At least for now, I just need to hope nothing breaks.

you mean your factory warranty ? how much was that ? I got quoted for $200 some but since I got the extended warranty I have to pay $100 deductible ..dont ask because im not sure where that come from but that how it says from the paper work...So it doesn matter the tranmission, engine or anything like that broke down I still have to pay that $100 and they take care the rest.

Haha similar thing happened, but my third tail light was broken more severely. The middle of the tail light snapped in half and fell off. I was washing my car at the time. It was fully covered by warranty + rental as well.

your aftermarket warranty is not going to cover your tail light or anything else cosmetic on your car.

Are you talking to me chrislis ? if so, it actually cover it but then I have to pay the deductible ($100) not only for the light but anything and except for brake pad, windshield wiper those kind of things.

My extanded warranty threw Warranty Solutions www.warrantysolutions.com did not cover my headrest motor / connection issues. They did cover the radiator / transmission / torque converter replacement do to the radiator fluid leak to trans issue. That was $7000+ repair on a 30k mile car. I had to pay $100 deductible and also got a loaner car from the Mercedes dealer for the two weeks it took to get in the parts and do the work.

you pay every month? thats strange but it sounds like a good deal to me if it covers more than just the engine. whats the name of the company?

Does anyone have experience using Warranty Direct? My '04 500 has over 50K on it and we'll probably keep it for another 2-4 years.

i just back from the dealer with my loaner, and YES the warranty is worth it. I have a 04 CLK 500, and the diff needs a new seal $900, and the motor and tranny mounts need to be replaced $1300. ( no clue why the mounts have to be replaced). Mercedes ELM extended warranty cover it all. (thank god)
