What 8/4 pot AMG Calipers will fit on my 2004 CLK500?

Hi All,

Getting the 8 pot front and 4 pot rear 55K AMG calipers is on my todo list, but I don't know from what model I can retrofit them from (E55, S55, SL55, CL55, etc). The only member I know that has done this upgrade is lowpost, but if any other knowledgeable person knows; please chime in!

I think you can do it from CLK55 ///AMG -05 but it only has 6 pistons in front and 4 in the back.

I heard there is not a significant improvement in stopping power between the stock Brembos and the AMG brakes on the 55. I think there is a thread on it..

2HCMCAR - what's up. I have the 6/4 pot AMG brakes. I'm not sure but I think the AMG brakes between the CLK/C(w203)/SLK are interchangeable.

As for improvement, I don't know yet since I'm still running the smaller 03-04CLK55 rotors up front so it hasn't been much too improvement over my stock non-AMG brakes.

Hey Lowpost, Does your 6/4 pot AMG brakes LOOK like the 8/4 pot AMGs? Do you have a picture of your brake setup you can share?
Where did you source the brakes (what Mercedes year/model was it)?
Did you have to buy adapters to make it fit?

Sorry for all the questions........

Sorry missed this - I think the 8 pot is slightly bigger, but the 6 pot still looks big on our car. They are shaped similar though. I have pics in here somewhere - just search under my name.

On an unrelated note I tried to put some spacers on today, to get a more aggressive stance on the rears, but they started vibrating at 60+.....uh took them off.

That is correct, you have to buy a different spindle or something that costs like 12-1500 bucks. I already asked
