2003 CLK 320
i think all suspension kits for the 203 should work for the 209. So the Kleeman should be readily available. I will be putting brabus springs on mine although I would get kleeman if price weren't an issue

Isn't the kleemann suspension actually slightly cheaper than the brabus? I know the springs by themselves are about $35 less ($410 for brabus and $375 for kleemann) unless I'm mistaken...

I have the brabus springs on my car... I'll go try to find a pic and post back.

Actually, the 209 suspension is very different from the 203. I believe you're thinking about the 208 being the same as the 203. KLEEMANN has suspension systems avaliable now for the 209.

Frisco- KLEEMANN springs are $385.00- true progressive rate springs which are CNC precision wound, shot peened, phosphate treated and powder coated. They will lower the car approx. .75"

Chow, I envy you man!!!!!!!! You must be a happy man right now. You should read my thread in the suspension section of this forum. I've also asked people about suspension for CLK. Some people recommended Brabus, HR, and even CLK 55AMG suspensions. Hope you have fun with your new car. Tell us more about it. I hope to get my hands on one of these soon too.

thanks Fisherman...vodc4, i have k3, k4 and appearance package for the car...i might use brabus for the spring since it will lower the car more than the kleemann does...any input for the shocks? should i go for brabus as well?

Cory :

You are mistaken, the W 203 / 209 will be exactly the same suspension and the 202 / 208 is the same, remember the CLK's
are build on the C class base, this goes for new and old CLK.

Chow:

Is your new car a CLK 320 or 500, if it's the V8, the kleemann springs will set the car in a very nice and low level.

2003 CLK 320
i thought the kleeman suspension shocks is what makes it speed sensitive no? Are the springs themselves really an improvement over brabus?

Why not just go with H&R for the best deal? They would be considerably cheaper than kleemann, brabus, lorinser, carlsson etc.

If you are looking to get the best components in your car go with H&R or Kleemann springs and Kleemann shocks. If you get some satisfaction from buying Brabus componets, by all means buy away, however don't assume that just because you are buying from Brabus you are getting the best performance parts available for your car. Brabus is obviously a reputable tuner, however, they seem to be more about the show than the go. Furthermore, they (like most tuners) don't actually manufacture many of their products.

Can someone just sort of give a general pro's and con's of some of the big names in Kit, such as HR, Kleemann, Brabus, Lorinser, Carlsson, Eibach, and Vogtland for the w209? Or where I can get some more information about them?

Another dumb question, after lowering about how many inches, would speed bumps and parking bricks become a real hazard?

thanks

Damn, that was an old thread!!!!! Like a trip down memory lane for me......Frisco, Sleestack.....wonder what they are up to these days???

Just BTW, Frisco started out with Brabus springs, but subsequently changes to a full Bilstein suspension.
