Vibration, hesitation

The really bad hesitation and poor power seems gone. So either the MAF cleaning or the spark plugs did it. I did not do the wires. He said I could wait another 25K.
I still had a little bit of vibration in the tranny, but NOTHING like before, so it was something I did.
I did get some fuel injector cleaner (Gumout) and I'll see if that makes a difference. Does the $160 fuel injector cleaning service make a difference that the dealer does?

Other symptoms include:
- small number of metal shavings in my tranny
- And I have the early (July 2003) Valeo radiator in my July/03-build CLK500
Clearly, I'm doomed.
So now it's time for the big question: trade the car in, or keep it and risk expensive repairs.
Anyone know what it can cost? How much for a new radiator and torque convertor? If it's $9K to replace the radiator, control unit, torque convertor and tranny, then it's time for a new car. I can probably trade it in before something horrible happens to it and then it won't be able to trade it in any more.
On the bright side, the hesitation seems gone, which is good. But maybe that's related to the tranny.

Could it be a head or something? And possibly the cause of all this?

The radiator and torque converter were replaced. The rest of the transmission was fine since we took it in right away. Total cost was something like $3996. Obviously that's probably going to double if there is some serious damage to the transmission.
I think our repair bill came in on the lower end of the spectrum for this issue. I was expecting anywhere from $4500-9000 depending on damage.

Between the $4K for this, $1K for an impending steering rack replacement, plus another $1K or something for suspension work to make the stupid thing stop vibrating, and winter tires, that's like half the value of the car.
It looks like I will be buying a Toyota soon. I'll miss this thing...

Every day, the tires get minor flatspots. Convertibles are very susceptable to it, and shake. Coupes and sedans are stiff, and don't notice it. When I park my front tires on a soft matt it makes a difference. Rediculous, isn't it?
Drives me batty.

Or you can buy a Bosch OEM-equivalent for around $80-$120 I think. Again, 20 minute mechanic's job to replace it.
