What expensive things go wrong on these?

So I'm thinking about getting rid of it, but then I love it (and so does my wife).
We're worried about $1000 repair after $1000 repair. Will I be done after this $6000???
What do you all spend for repairs and maintenance per year? Am I just paranoid?

Since I beat up the tires in the rear, pretty much every 10000 miles is the $300-$500 service, plus a new set of tires, plus there is always something else that needs to be fixed.
Do you own it? Can you trade in and start over? 6,000 to 7,000 K would be allot down towards another benz, car prices are low right now, but might also effect your trade in as well.Good luck, keep us posted on the repairs.

Total repair cost was over $7000, for the torque converter, radiator and transmission plus labor. Lucky I had extended warranty and it only cost me $100 but while doing my online research I found quite a few people effected by this and some poor ones did not have warranty
I only have the car for 4 months with 31,000 miles on it. Besides that I spend $110 to get both of the front turn signal sockets replaced do to the known short out issue. So far had two of the know Mercedes issues both fault of manufacturing defects or bad design and in both cases Mercedes while acknowledging the issues, basically tell the owners to f*** off
not a good feeling
