my sunroof won't express close: goes a few inches then reverses. when I first got it (a week ago) it was doing that while opening as well, so I re-sync'ed the way I'd always done in my C-Classes: hold the button an extra 30 seconds after complete close, complete open, flip up, and back down. that cured the opening issue, but not the closing....anyone?


ps..why don't the rear windows express? I know that they're not supposed to, but why not?

 

Push up(Like you are popping the top) and hold the button for 10 seconds.

 

I have the same issue with my sunroof. I've read up somewhere that the rails might need some greasing up a little. Something about the motor sensing some tension so it wants to open back up for safety purposes. Haven't tried to do the reprogram either. Let us know how you've fixed this.

 

yeah, that didn't work for me....I tried all 4 directions and held for well more than 10 seconds...still won't express close. guess I'll start a list for my next trip to the dealership.

 

I had the same problem. All I did was got a paper towel sprayed some WD-40 on it and wiped the rails and it works perfectly now.

 

I have the same issue on my car. A couple mins after I start my engine, it closes fine. After driving for a while, if I try to close the sunroof, it closes completly and opens about 2 inches. In order to close it, I make it open tilt (small opening only in the back side), and close. This method works for me.
