passenger seat won't pivot.....

I found myself missing my old C-Class coupe (hatchback) when I first noticed that the passenger seat doesn't pivot forward when you fold the seat up. I don't normally fold the driver seat up, but I did yesterday to put something in the back seat and I was surprised that it did pivot forward. I figured maybe my wife and daughter (and myself) just weren't pushing the passenger seat forward hard enough but I tried again and it doesn't budge. Is it supposed to, or does just the drivers seat do that? (stupid question maybe, but I also still don't know why MB didn't make the back windows express....)

It depends on how far back the seat is placed when you pivot it forward. It will only rasie if it is toward the very back of its range. That at least is what I found in my clk350 cab.

Both seats pivot. If you try to pivot the seat and it will not...then move the seat forward towards the steering wheel/dashboard. When the seat is positioned too far back it loses the pivot ability. This is especially annoying for someone like me who is 6'4" LOL

Thanks, I'll give that a try, but I don't think it's all the way back; my dad, who's got a big gut, puts it all the way back and other front seat passengers, like my wife or daughter, find that uncomfortable.

Yeah, it's stuck pretty good; still under warranty so I guess I'll go to dealer.

Well, it's stuck pretty good. Moving it forward doesn't help. I guess I should take it to the dealership (I am under warranty still).

It popped free and a broken pen appeared which was likely jammed in there somewhere.

Mine gets stuck too (just passenger side) I solved the problem by pushing the seat backwards first, then I hear a clicking sound, then I lift the latch and it will move. Don't ever try to force it, and don't pull forward using the headrest, use the seatback.

mine kept getting stuck, so I took it in before the warranty's up. the replaced "faulty seat back assembly".
