I currently have 15mm spacers on my car.
I used spacers because they are not staggered wheels.
I have a new set of staggered wheels to go on the car.
I may even see if I have room to use the spacers WITH the new, wider wheels.
The wheels I have on at the moment, are 8.5 inches wide (front and rear).
The offsets on them are 35 (front and back).
I have 245/35/19 tyres on the rear wheels.
I reckon I have alittle room to go wider.
I used to have 20mm spacers on my 208 (with the same wheels).
You need to check the offsets of the wheels you will be using.
Also, check if the rear wheels are wider than the fronts (i.e, stagggered), as this will also effect the size of the spacer you can use.
The tyre shoulder also plays a part too.
Too much of a shoulder on the tyre can obviously cause rubbing.
It can be a bit of a trial-and-error situation.
I don't think you'll have a problem with 10mm spacers, but you need to bear in mind the above mentioned.

Ur not doing that 63 justice with those wheels! You gotta go wide in the back and make it look like the monster it is

Hahaha
Relax, relax.
haha
The wheels that are on the car at the mo, are the wheels that I previously had on my 208.
The 18" AMG rims that came on the 63 were just too small, so I put these 19's on.
I had new, staggered wheels delivered last week for the beastie.

I have been spending the last few days waxing them up before putting them on the car for a look-see.
I'll probably wait until spring before leaving them on the car though.

Hi mate.
Spacers are components that are used to help make wheels stick out from the car.
Yo can get spacers that bolt onto the hub, or spacers that are simply clamped into place between the hub and wheel by the bolts.
Spacers are effective and safe.
Just make sure you get hubcentric spacers.
Hubcentric spacers are designed to sit against the hub snuggley.
They also have a lip on the outside that sits nicely against the wheel. Again, preventing movement.
Crappy spacers are bascially just big washers that can/ do move around after time.
Spacers come in different thicknesses.
They are generally made form Billit aluminium and are very strong.
Good ones come from Germany and are TUV approved.

Sorry. Carp pictures, but should give you an idea.

Well, they add alittle to the un-sprung weight, which doesn't help performance.
But this is really quite marginal.
On the plus side, they will effectively widen your track - thus improving handling slightly.
If you use spacers in conjunction with lowering springs, sports shocks and low-profile tyres, then you will have a nice stiff ride which will love corners alot more!

Question for ya.
Did you have work done on your rear wheel arches?
I ask this because I'm wondering what you have done to prevent rubbing.
There is one particular area of the wheel arch that I believe will come into contact with the tyre first... The section of the arch that is just infront of the wheel.
You know, the bit of wheel arch that isn't rolled and tucked under itself like the rest of the arch.
Before ordering my new wheels, I was going to use 20mm spacers but it looked alittle too close for comfort.

I'll put the new wheels on (tomorrow probably) and see how they look without spacers for now.
I've got a feeling that they are not really gonna sit out any more than my current wheels do, because I currently have spacers on.
We'll see.
Out of interest, do you have any close pics of your arches since they were rolled?

Hey guys.
Finally put my new wheels on my car.
These pics were taken just after I put them on (hence the untidy looking tyres and slightly higher ride height).
I'm very happy with the way they look.
Glad to finally have a staggered setup!![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Up to now, I was using spacers with my old replica Carlsson's in order to push the rear wheels out abit.
When I was taking the old wheels off, I thought "Hey, why not leave the spacers ON and see what effect they have on the new wheels"!
So I left the spacers on, expecting the wheels to be sticking out way too far.
But no!![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
They are still within tolerances and have just enough clearance under the arches.
Just to be sure, I parked 1 rear wheel on a ramp (to push the wheel into the arch) and also got 2 people to sit on the boot sill and bounce up and down.
This, in theory, should simulate how far the suspension will travel while in motion. (hopefully! lol).
All seemed well. Tyre tucked safely under the arch and didn't seem to travel far enough to cause any problems.
So I went for a blast. Gingerly! heehee![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
After a few miles, I built the confidence to nail it abit.![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
A few hard accelerations off the lights and between 30mph and 60mph.
No problems at all.
Car looks great. Alot more aggressive looking!![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
The suspension has also settled to it's normal ride height.
I'm very chuffed.
I'll take some more pics when the rain has buggered off.
