Here are the best mods listed in order from greatest gains to least:
1) Headers (makes biggest improvement in both power & sound)
2) Crank Pulley
3) High flow 2nd cats (which you have already done)
4) ECU upgrade
That is the best order to modify the car as far as gains are concerned. It is recommended to always leave software till last b/c honestly on a stock car it really isn't worth it or necessary. Do all the hardware mods first then upgrade software, you will be glad you did it in that order.
Hope that helps.

why are after market pulleys so expensive anyway? I can't justify spending $500+ on a metal little wheel when the factory one is at a fraction of the cost....unless it had some sparkly diamonds on it

(In all seriousness definitely not, 50-60HP is about the limit on an NA 5.5L AMG and that's if you do pretty much every available bolt-on mod for it period. Those mods alone will not suffice. Still, its worth doing, when you add that much power it really transforms the entire car)

Your gains info is based on the AMG 55 engine, Kleemann rep quoted him 80 whp on the 500 engine.

I agree, a bit absurd. On a 500 engine more like 40-50HP is the limit, 5.5 AMGs are more receptive to the mods due to better flowing components and larger displacement (of course).
