9 months!!!!!!
i cant believe this
i've ordered my clk 320 from germany since september 2002.. and now its March the 14th.. and the dealer told me the production date will start on MAY !! and the car will be ready on june the 6th or 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9 whole months just to get a damn CLK!! if it was a CLK55 amg.. i wouldnt mind waiting for it..!!
plus the 21 days to ship my car from europe to my country
ARE THEY PUTTING PEOPLE ON TOP OF ME OR WHAT???

Will you car be an 04?If not when will the 04's be out as it may be worth it to wait a bit longer since you've waited this long.
There are plenty of CLK 500's 320's and 55's available at msrp I waited a whopping two weeks for my 500, I live in a high demand area and drove 3 hours out of my way but got what I wanted and when I wanted it.

where do you live? I wish I only had to to wait two weeks, as I waited a little over 4 months for my CLK, and that was the shortest wait I could find around here. Up here in the NYC area, it's hard enough to find demo models, much less unclaimed models sitting on the lot.

9 months does seem extreme, but not knowing where you live, it's hard to say whether or not they gave someone your spot. Regardless though, the CLK is a fine car, even if its not the AMG version. You'll be happy once you get it.

I belive 04 production starts around June or July. Don't know what the big differences are between the 03 and 04...but comand will be DVD based...My dealer told me my car will probably be here around late Sept. or early October

I recently took a test drive (in the UK) in a CLK320, and the dealer told me there was roughly a 6 month waiting list, although it was likely the car would come in around 4 months (their backlog was about 4 months).
I asked about the 04 model and the rumours I had heard (DVD COMAND and 3.7L engine - CLK350) but he had not heard of any of these, plus he checked his dealer bulletins and nothing mentioned there either...
Also, from 1st May the retail prices have gone up in the UK. The base CLK320 rising from 34,590 GBP to 35,100 GBP (est. 52650 USD).
BTW, the test drive was fantastic - thoroughly enjoyed every second - even the traffic queues
