I don't its Carlsson's fault, but Tirerack, their main importer of Carlsson discontinuing that brand. I talked to them when i was searching, and the excuse i got was Tirerack didn't like their spacer approach to accommodate different off-sets. Anyhow, the Brabus i bought has spacers too, very nicely integrated to the design so i don't share that concern ..... and if its good enough for the autobahn it should be good enough for our (US) crawling speeds.

Cheers

alt2nyc,

I really like where your wheels sit in the wheel arc. Do you know the off-set of the wheels. My Brabus VI wheels/tires has

Front: 18x8.5 35mm off-set 225/40
Rear: 18x9.5 30mm off-set 255/35

Yous seems to sit a tad further out than mine.

Cheers

all...

thanks for the comments. Sorry for the delay, I've been travelling, so I haven't had a chance to respond to everyone's questions.

I got the wheels through Harris...and to his knowledge, they were the first set of 1/16s to be installed here. Harris...if you are reading this, could you please confirm.

The base wheels had offsets of: 40 ET front and 45 ET rear. The wheels were shipped with front spacers of 12mm and a rear spacers of 10mm. So that would make my offsets 28mm up front and 35mm in he back. I'll have to double check, but I think those were the specs. And my wheels are 18x8.5 f and 18x10 r.

Actually...

with rear spacer is 16mm. Which means my offsets are as follows:

F: 18x8.5 - ET 28 - 235/40/18
R: 18x10 - ET 29 - 265/35/18

Tango, Buck...

as far as costs, I don't have the invoices in front of me, as I haven't been home for over a week. I got the Yokohama AVS ES 100s from tirerack, so you can look up the price there...but I think they were around $650 with shipping. I got quite a few things from Harris, so I don't recall the itemized bill. I suggest sending him a PM to get the prices on the Carlsson 1/16s and the Brabus Springs.

Thumbs up

Those wheels look awesome! That's exactly what I was looking for, 18 x 8.5F and 18 x 10R in a classy/sporty/different looking wheel. Hopefully I can fit them in my car!
atl2nyc, you ride looks cool.
