car lightly shaking in idle?
Hey guys.
I dont know if this is recent. I usually have my music up and my sub hitting. but i put it on mute for some reason and i noticed my sweater was in a constant vibrating motion. and then i realized that the whole car felt like that.
I have a CLK 320 at 72k mi. just wondering if its normal cuz my car is getting old. or is it foretelling that something is going to go out soon?
any of you guys had this experience?

Try the easiest and cheapest first.
Clean your MAF with MAF cleaner.
If not, check to see if you have any codes stored.
If nothing there, check your motor mounts.

It's the motor mounts. It's not bad gas, MAF, or misfiring. It's the motor mounts. Take it to a reputable shop/dealer and have them confirm, but I've been through this twice and I know what your symptoms are. Best of luck!

how much does it cost to have them change the motor mounts -_- it already sounds expensive at the dealership.
youve had to change your motor mounts twice?

Mercedes motor mount are easy to replaced. I used the hydraulic jack to push up the engine to removed and installed the motor mount. Don't re[lace it if there's no sign pf fluids leak. If no leak, you might want to tight the bolts down tighter.

i guess i'll have my family friend at the dealership take a look and see what might be the problem. depending on how hard the job might be, i might have to pull the trigger on the dealership to do it.
im not great but i can do the basics and have the skills to figure stuff out. so i guess after what my friend says, i'll do research on it and see what my options are. thanks for all the replies. hopefully i can get it checked out soon.

Klinh is correct, the motor mounts can be tightened down if there is no fluid leak. If all the fluid has leaked out, then you should replace them.
As a part, they are not expensive. Something like $150 each. At the dealer, it's the Labor that will drive the costs.

VERY expensive. i had the same issue. my motor and transmission mounts were replaced about 3 months ago. it was 900 for the motor and 1200 for the tranny.
thank god extended warranty covered it.
