I think its a pen holder. My does not have anything in there but I did see one in I think same place on a deferment Benz

You are correct - it's for a pen. When I assumed it was for a tire pressure gauge someone at the dealership said "pen."

well tire pressure gauge would be more useful in a car then a pen

It's either for a pen or analog tire pressure gauge. I use it for the tire pressure gauge.

I have had my '07 for three months now and when installing an itronic box last weekend i just noticed the sunglasses holder on the inside of the glovebox lid!

sorry to hijack this old thread, but does anyone know where the optional 12v power outlet goes in the glovebox, and if it's available as a DIY mod?

Thats a good question. I'd like to add a 12v outlet in my glove somewhere in the sqaure pocket next to the CD changer so I can leave my ipod connect.

Has anyone done a DIY or have any parts information, where did you tap power from, etc... they used for this?
