Wheel Fitment Issues

Hey guys, so I went and bought a set of AMG rims off Craigslist today. I tried to do a test fit on one of the front rims and it wouldn't clear the brakes. My question is, does anyone know how big of a spacer I will have to run to clear the brakes?

The AMG wheels have a part number corresponding to the W220 S-Class and are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9 in the rear. I don't have the specific offsets, but I do remember seeing ET44 on one of the rims, not sure if it was front or rear, though.

Tires in the front are 225 and tires in the back are 265.

I know I have very limited information right now, but would anyone be able to chime in as to whether a 10mm spacer should be enough or if I need a 12mm, or even a 15mm?

Thanks

Edit: I did some research, and it seems that the rims are from an S55 and the offset is 44mm all around, can I make these rims fit my car with spacers?

Why do people just buy things and not knowing whether it will fit or not !!!!!!!!!! Just because it a mercedes wheel, it will not fit on all mercedes cars. The front wheel offset for the Clk on an 8.5 in. wide rim should be arounf 30-35 offset. Now, do the math and figure out your spacer thickness you will need. Here's more bad news for you.......you will need special custom made spacer for your front wheel hub. The regular/standard with hub centric lip won't slide throught your wheel hub.

I think the front W209 offset should be around 37 so with 10mm spacers, you will be at 34. If you go with wider spacers, I am afraid that your fronts will be more aggresive than the rears.

I just happen to have a close-to-new pair of hubcentric 10 mm H&R spacers. This is designed to fit only the front axle so please feel free to let me know if you're interested. I can have them out by today if you need them in a hurry

Please PM me a price shipped to 01905 (MA).

This 10mm spacer should be enough to move the wheel away from the brake calipers, but do you think it'll push my tire out too far and it'll rub against my fender? It's a 225 size tire on an 8.5in rim.

Also, does anyone know if I'll have any problems with the rear wheels/tires? 265 tires on 9 inch rim.

You should be fine if they are 225/40/18 and 265/35/18.

BTW check your PM.

The only problem I can see is your car will look funny with a 10mm spacer in the front and no spacer in the rear. Usually, people want to push the rear out more then the front for the staggered look. Yoyr will be looking opposite if no spacer in the back.

Just test fitted the rears, they scrape against the inside a little bit. I will be putting 10mm spacers in the front and rear, hopefully that will work.
