My car was washed with dish soap

So I went to a hs car wash, and I didn't know what they were using (dumb thing in my part) and they used some green works product on my car.

So does that hurt the paint? I'm gonna wash my car tomorrow. I mean its only been on my car for like 2 minutes and rinsed off.

its not a problem. dish soap is basically a scented degreaser, no where near strong enough to damage anything. Just re wash your car if it makes you feel better. TC

Dish soap removes the wax that you had on the car. I would rewax the car after washing it.

I've heard of washing with dawn before clay barring the car to get the wax off. Maybe you should take advantage and clay before waxing.

Dish soap will strip the wax off your car. Without wax, the car will have no protection against bird droppings, rain, etc... You may soon have water marks which are very difficult to remove.

On the other hand, I doubt if a commercial ca wash would use dish soap.

There is one way to check if there is any wax left on your car. Use a microfibre, press down to the car surface and twist. If you hear a squishy noise, there is no wax (or not enough wax) on your car and you should wax your car right away.

Les is absolutely correct with the dawn wash process. It is what every detailer does prior to claying. It's great opportunity to get the first wax and polishing of the season done.

I have the bar type wax, any idea what type of cloths i should be using to wax?
I know i should use microfiber cloth to wipe it off, what about wiping it on?

Haha, one reason I never bring any of my Mercedes to a high school or college car wash. As tempting as it is to have a bunch of girls in bikinis drooling over your car, it's not worth it.
