Trunk Lid Struts

Should the trunk lid open 3/4 or 100 of its travel with the pressure lift of the hydraulic struts?

2007 CLK.

Mine goes 75% and with a push goes the remaining 25%.

2003 CLK 320
i have an 03 and mine went 100% but i thought it was bad because when i open it from the inside of the car, i felt like a tiny jerk from it. i was thinking that thing is going to come off one day. lol

but since i dynomatted the trunk it only goes about 80% and im happy with it.

your not happy with the 75%?

E350 Cabriolet
I need to buy one of these and need the part number. I have the broken strut in my hand and have tried every number on it at rmeuropean. Nothing works. If I search for "strut", several come up but nothing for the trunk/deck lid.
Anybody else ever buy one of these? Where did you get it and what P/N did you use.
Thanks

E350 Cabriolet
So I bought one $12 Parts Geek trunk strut and it lasted less than a week. The plastic on one end cracked and pieces fell off. I then ordered 2 “partition panel shocks” from Rocky Mountain European (P/N 2096900059, Stabilus “Original Equipment$29 each). I installed those last night and they offer only minor assist in lifting the trunk (deck lid). Before when we popped the trunk the deck lid popped open slightly (15%) and was very easy to lift to the full open position. Now with the new struts it opens, but not as much, and is much heavier to lift to the full open position. And closing now requires effort to not slam the deck lid shut. Before with the original MB struts, we had to push the deck lid down to close it.
Is this one of those items that you have to go to the dealer to buy to get a quality part?
