New Guy

Hey guys...just wanted to drop in say what's up...loving the forum...I've been reading and reading and reading...oh yeah...and reading...Here's the story

I'm coming from civicforums.com...but am all modded up on my other baby w/ drop, interior illumination, subs, amps, turbo, full catback exhaust, tenzo r rims, carbon fiber dash kit, single din stereo, intake, blue calipers, header, etc., etc., etc...my 2004 Honda Civic LX ...I'll be sure to post some pictures of the 'vic and my new 500...

So now I'm upgrading and would love your input, answers, and suggestions on some stuff

I just purchased a 2004 CLK 500 w/ the AMG package from my brother in the champagne exterior, beige interior...gotta change that color...Any one have any advice, pricing, and suggestions on painting the 500 white.

On top of that the plans are to get these rims in 19X8 and 19X9.5 w/ 235/35/19 f and 265/35/19 r on h&r sports:
http://www.buywheelstoday.com/images/?id=5862
or
http://www.spoiledcars.com/wheels/LUXE/Luxe--LX1.asp
what you think?

Brembo brakes/ red calipers

Change the headlight bulbs...will they throw a code with the 500 or it's just like every other headlight bulb install? But may even change the whole headlight assembly to the projectors w/ hids (I have the halogens)

Change the sidemarker to clear and some of the leds from the sidemarkers, license plate lights (error free), interior lights, running lights, etc.

Tint...

Performance chip?...eh maybe...

Tell me what you guys think, how you think it'll look, and any suggestions you have...appreciate it and talk to you soon...

hey welcome~~
you are on same route as i do. i was from 00 Civic SI (greddy td05 turbo, hyper exhaust, tenzo r wheels & seats, spoon engine stuff, sus, sound system ect...) then c230k and clk500.
i spend lots of money on civic but benz level are different. parts are crazy..
haha but its worth it and addiction.
good luck with finding stuff and have fun..

Hello, and welcome to the forum. As far as the paint goes figure + 3k. Give or take depending on the place you go to. Then you have the option of vinyl wrap instead of paint. There are some pics in the picture thread and a member recently posted his matte black clk.

For the wheels the most common size is 19x8.5 in the front and 265/30/19 in the rear. If your going to get H&R springs it is also recommended that you change out the suspension also to avoid future headaches.

The Brembo brakes are going to run you *a pretty penny. Most guys start by upgrading their front brakes first and then the rears. But if you have the money then by all means go for it.

Their are a few HID kits that won't throw codes. Check out ijdmtoy or hidextra in the group buy section. Of course the best route is switching to BIX's but that also the most expensive. Like bheng said they can go anywhere from $800-$1600.

For all the interior and exterior LEDs just do a quick search for "LEDs" here in the 209 forum and you should find a bunch of threads extensively covering the subject.

Tints are pretty much self explanatory, just depends how dark you want to go. Don't know too much bout the chip but there is an ECU tune a few of us have and their is a group buy going on now. Look for the thread "clk 500 ecu upgrade". Not too expensive, definitely worth the money.

Post some pics when you get a chance.

The civic was a good time and a great learning process on mods...definitely stepping up though with the 500...

I know it's a pricey list, but the turnout will be great. The only thing that I'm worried about is the paint job. I don't have any dings so it won't need body work, but I wanna ensure a factory look paint job which I gotta find a place here in Vegas. I saw Dome's wrapped car and definitely might look into it. I'll be sure to post up pics soon...

You already have the Brembo in the front ( 4pistons) and if u happy with that replaced the rear only ..that should help you saving alittle bit of cash.

I am...that's what I was thinking...did you paint your calipers yellow, get a cover, or swap out the entire caliper?...

It's tough finding a good/ reputable shop for the paint job or finding a place that will do a vinyl wrap here in Vegas...

vinyl wrap is pretty easy. i just looked up a youtube video for them doing it on a trip piece and followed it from there.

as for the caliper paint. go look at my blue caliper paint thread. were were throwing out color ideas. the two options are usually to g2 caliper paint and thats a diy. or you can get them powder coated. g2 has some standard colors and powder coating, your looking to pay a bit more but you can get whatever color you want.

Nice suggestion on the caliper painting...definitely going to be doing that, but as for the vinyl wrapping I'm just becoming more and more skeptical after researching it more. It has, tops...a 5 year expectancy and rock chips can tend to appear more so I'm almost sure I'm going to just go the paint job route considering I only white a factory white and don't have any dings...

I'm just trying to find a great price without sacrificing quality, but I just can't seem to find a spot that I trust or know of anyone that has already gotten one here in Vegas. White 500's just look too fresh though...

welcome... I have a front brembo 14" in yellow that I will put up for sale in couple of days.

For the rims. I think you should go with forged 2/3 piece wheels. Yes, they are way more expensive, but less people are using it. thats just my 2 cents. As long as you happy with it you should go with it. People has different taste.

I have sold my car to my friend. He paid for all except the brembos. I think I will put 2k for an opening price. How much do you think it will be fair? This is the 14' not the 13' one. I've used it around 10k

The rotors are 355mm right? I just bought Coin's 14' for $1300 w/ 10k miles on it. Have anymore pics of the brakes? Did you paint the rears to match?

it is still on the car. i have to check either tuesday/ wednesday to get an exact measurement. I thought coin's one is 13', still 1300 is a real good price. THis thing costs 3k brand new.

I didn't paint the rear though, I'm thinking to get a rear brembo but I've sold the car so we'll see what next

I hear you,hopefully I find the rears somewhere...Coin's uses the 355mm rotor. I believe the 13' is 332mm.
