some new interior mods

control unit to the v1 for stealth. to the left of it is the mic for bt. reason for the long wire is cuz im testing on where i would like to put it. it allows me to put it on the dash as well. even with tinted windows, the glare from the sun doesnt allow me to see arrows or band.

self explanatory =)

pioneer HU (more pics to come)

pioneer on the dash.

center console shot

brabus shift knob

i did the install myself with the help of a friend so that saved me a couple of bux

all the parts cost quite a bit. i dont remember the total. never really totaled it up either. i bought it from various stores for discounted prices. collected all the parts and did an install.

i'll post a thread later how i ran all the wires and the parts i bought.

The headunit looks great!

I was wondering if you lost steering wheel controls afterwards? I've seen some units from PAC, but it doesn't seem to integrate well with our cars.

No idea, but I was planning on pioneer. Something compatible with the PAC controls so I could keep the steering wheel function. You will be hearing from me when I do.

when was it when i started this? 6 months ago. lol i was waiting for that background. then i added the v1. so i decided not to put the shift trim piece in till i finished everything.

then i ended up picking up the shifter so i did it all again. wish i took before and after pics tho. haha. i cant even remember how my car looked like before.

If you get in touch with advans, let us know what LED he told you to use.

i think i remember him saying he used a radioshack led and radioshack resistors. not sure. haha.

i do think there is another member on here who has had their LED swaped...? i think ima forgetting his username tho. km....aj? something along those lines. jon as i think his real name was. put a white led on it.

and i dont even know how to open up the dam thing. lol i dont want to break it. finally just got one too. well since its dark. i wanna see how lit up is the b.\

so the b is pretty dim. but you can see it at night. not all too bright but a subtle b. you see it less when driving on a street with street lights. i didnt bother bringing a camera but the b lights up only at a dim subtle thing. i kinda like it. but im sure its on its way out. so i already sent a message to advans. maybe when it goes out, i'll put in a new orange led.

yeah i saw that. quite the clean install. but i know that you need to give midcity or maybe they do a core exchange but i think its done for 100 or more. for the money, i didnt deem worth it for now. i was itching to diy instead lol. but it is a stealthy install. i would only pay to get it hardwired like that if i got the passport 9500ci or something like that the that other one that needs to be professionally installed. hmmmm..now that i think about it, if i ever hit a junk yard, ima pull rear view mirror out and see if i can get it to work myself lol

lately ive been getting the diy bug ever since the radio install. even decided to do work on my friends miata. all the fun of a diy at no cost. i think i might be

Did you install a sub? I'm looking for a new solution for mine... Mine is in a box... takes up too much space and moves around.

yeah i have a sub installed. what size if your sub and what kinda box you put it in. i believe v12 cut up his rear and did an infinite baffle set up where the stock subs are. theres another member (and i think this is the easiest set up) he dynomated his spare tire well. put a layer of mdf and put the sub in there. obviously not running with a sub. it looks sick. had led and see thru stuff.

as for my set up, my box stays still. i didnt want it to move and did want to use nets and such. so my buddy and i bolted down the box to the car. but i do agree, i miss trunk room.

you go to UCSD right? how is sd treating you

i was originally debating the pioneer vs kenwood hu. even though kenwood has more processing power, pioneer hands down had the best looking gui. their damn updates are expensive tho.

it came off pretty easily after the you take the trim off. but everything is second or third time around. lol but i think i can easily guide any member to take trim off. pretty simple. i was surprised it was that easy. lol

i would say upgrade sooner than later. i was always wanted to get a stereo job done. and i used to do a lot of driving before. and i wish i had all those audio mods when i commuted everywhere.

pac audio helps you regain sw controls. you can actually program it to do a lot more than that. i didnt have the phone option but if i bought the new pac audio unit which just recently came out and accepts bluetooth, you can program it to pick up and hang up via sw controls.

but i never use sw controls. only from time to time.
