satisfied?

i am looking into either a c32 or a clk500 and was wondering if you guys are satisfied with your clk. i've been reading that some have experienced problems with the car. if i were to get one, it would most likely be an 04, so maybe less problems? what are your opinions on the car? thanks.

I love my 03' CLK500. It had a few problems early on (noisy wipers, BAS malfunction) but otherwise has been a great car. Time will tell but so far, I've experienced less problems than I expected from a 1st year car.

Prior to this car, I had two C5 Corvettes (98' then an 01') and while I loved them as well, they both visited the service department at least a half a dozen times within the first 2 years. I'm hoping the more expensive CLK does better.

thanks for the info Eich, out of curiosity, how long have you had your clk? did you get the keyless go option? if so, how do you like it? i really wish they offered that on the c32, but i guess not.

I have a clk. its a 320 though. I have a couple problems (windows, drift to right, stereo) But i really love this car. It is awesome. They gave me a c230 for a loaner and i like my clk much more. But c 32 would be different. lol

great to hear you are enjoying your car as well gbahri. is that drifting problem a major issue? allignment? i really like the style of the clk and everything it has to offer, but i'm just such a speed freak not that i would use it in any dangerous way or anything. too bad i can't get a clk55.

If you are a speed freak....get the AMG. I have never driven the new CLK500, but they should have similar performance as my W208 430. The V8s are fast and pretty stable at high speeds, but I feel the initial accelerations are not as responsive as I would want them to be after comparing it to C32....

I decided not to touch the C32 in my garage, because it really made my car feels slower....

Have you test driven both cars? See which one appeals to you more.

Lamay, i plan on testing the c32 this weekend and the clk sometime within the next two weeks. they don't have any in stock and am waiting for them to come in. kinda anxious to see how both cars perform. one thing i miss with the new mb designs are the placements of the window buttons. we had several mercedes in the past when the buttons were in the middle, surrounding the shifter. i found that more convenient than having the buttons on the door.

I purchased my CLK 500 slightly used. It was originally purchased in July of 02'. I purchased it used from the dealer in December of 02'. Apparently the original owner purchased it from the lot while waiting for an order he had on an SL.

It doesn't have keyless go. I wish it would've had that and distronic. It also didn't have Command but I was lucky enought to find Steve (MBenzNL) through this board. He did a great job installing a EURO Command in January.

Within a week after I owned it, the BAS malfunction showed up in the display. I also had to visit the dealer twice to get the wipers to work without skipping all over the windshield.

Other than quirky rain sensor behavior, the car has been great ever since.

My drift wasn't a big problem. It was very unoticable. Anyway, they fixed it for me.
