Is it possible to "smoke" chrome rims?...

I can't stand my chrome rims and don't have the funds to replace them yet so I was thinking of "smoking" them to a faint gray haze....I don't want to go through the hassle and time of removing the chrome so I was thinking of just doing it on top...Need input and suggestions.

PS. I know this is a risky move and I am a risky idiot but that's beyond the point.

Get them painted. If you don't remove the chrome they are probably going to start chipping right away. Can't be more than $100 a wheel to powder coat

stripped the chrome will cost him, then prime and paint or powder.

i would just hold out until you have dough for a new set of wheels. or see if someone wants to trade you for non-chromes.

What wheels do you have? Might want to trade my "faint gray haze" AMG.
