Press the SVC button, then select "Settings" and then select "AUX". Hope this helps

Part Number: 2104405005 does not fit your vehicle. it appears your vehicle is not equipt with this option no returns on electrical items.let me know, thanks
They didn't use their own ridiculous messaging system, so I just replied to the email, which went nowhere. Then using their ridiculous messaging system (what are they, a psychiatrist's office?), I tell them on 9/4:
I received the following message via email: "Thank you for choosing Parts.com! Part Number: 2104405005 does not fit your vehicle. it appears your vehicle is not equipt with this option no returns on electrical items.let me know, thanks" which included a reply to this message link that did not work, BTW. I'm not sure what you mean 'does not fit my vehicle'. Can you tell me what your understanding is as to where the part fits, and why it won't fit in mine?
9/7 they reply:
we i stated that the part picked out doesn't fit your vehicle means it is not part of your vehicle.
....to which I say:
I'm buying to ADD it to my vehicle. I understand that my vehicle does not currently HAVE this part. It is my understanding that the Auxiliary Input was an OPTION on my vehicle when new, and that I can now add Part Number 2104405005 to the existing wiring harness of my vehicle to complete this feature. Unless you're telling me that the connector is not going to fit the connection on my harness, please ship my order. Thank you.
...and they find it necessary to respond:
i don't know if this will fit.perhaps you can add this function.no return if doesn't work,thats all,thanks
....so I say:
understood
and they STILL don't ship
![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
can you ship the darn order please? Ive been back and forth for nearly 2 weeks, not counting the back and forth BEFORE I completed the order! I know what I ordered, I know there are no returns just ship the darn stuff please.
that darn cable better fit after all this, assuming I'm still young enough to do the install when it gets here!

lol, sometimes they are a PITA when you order a part and it doesn't belong on your VIN. I had a bit a problem a couple days ago when I order the BS rear brakes. I did not provide a VIN at all. They asked for my VIN to make sure the order is accurate and I sent them a message saying there is no VIN and I ordered the parts by part #, I assure you the part #'s are correct. They said the same to me, "Please no returns" I answered ..No problem...lol
I shouldn't of taken that long for you. When you are not ordering parts that go with your VIN, it's better not to provide one.

they just emailed that the order is shipped; glad they're working on a Saturday! PS, I had added a hood badge 'cuz it killed me to pay the $11 minimum shipping for the one little cable, and that boosted the shipping to $13! Ahhh, life with a Mercedes.....

okay, after a month of begging parts.com to PLEASE just send the cable, it came and I MacGyver'ed (or Mickey-Mous'ed) it in today, avoiding the glovebox completely. I went straight across to the console. Let me tell any goofballs out there that are considering this mod: if a dope like me can do it, you can too! Some things that may have not been covered in this or other threads:
To get that doorsill off just pry and yank with your hands; it's held in with clips that you'll just pound the sill back onto with your fist when you're done.
Once you get it off, you're looking for a white connector that has 2 black, one brown, and one yellow wire, just like the cable you're installing. It will likely NOT jump right out at you, like in this excellent photo from the 27 page thread that MBenz linked above:
![](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/test/37908-just-test-img_1037.jpg)
I did not fully remove the kick panel below the glovebox in passenger footwell, but I DID remove the screw and finesse the front of it off the carpet, to get better access. Don't miss the screw, which is behind a little cover:

The wires run thru a chase that you unclip to get better access and view:
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v115/eddieo45/utf-8BSU1HMDAyNjguanBn.jpg)
That white connector you're looking for was WAY toward the front of the car, below the glovebox in my car:
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynjcuanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382731d1542322022t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynjcuanbn.jpg)
AND, it was attached to another white connector as well as a green one, so it was triple-sized:
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynjyuanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382732d1542322022t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynjyuanbn.jpg)
Once I found it and connected the cable, I ran it back toward the seat, then over across the front of the seat, as there's a "seam" there between the pieces of carpet. While pulling the front piece away from the underseat piece, I pushed DOWN on it, to make it drop down from the console. Having removed the front cupholder, I snuck a coathanger down to that side of the console:
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynjkuanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382733d1542322022t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynjkuanbn.jpg)
Yeah, you probably see that I had my shift boot off. I couldn't figure out how to get the wood trim off too, which might have made running the wire even easier, but the coathanger method was simple too. At first, I tried to pull the adapter end thru, but it was to big to make the trip. Maybe if I had gotten that wood off.....
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynzauanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382734d1542322022t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynzauanbn.jpg)
Instead, I just plugged one end of my male->male extension into it and threaded the other end of the extension back to the cupholder hole, using the coathanger.
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynzeuanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382735d1542322022t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynzeuanbn.jpg)
It comes up thru the bottom of the cupholder, as the rubber bottom piece has a little tab that still allows access. Even with the cable there, I can still fit a bottle of water in the cupholder.
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynziuanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382736d1542322022t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynziuanbn.jpg)
Yes, that iPod is red; it's for Africa!
Anyway, I still want to buy that iPod line-out cable that has an input for power; then maybe I'll reroute this to the ashtray.
PS: Thanks Andy for so quickly replying to my desperate email about removing the shift trim!

Thx Wes. I actually found the shift-boot removal info in an old thread of yours. Would you have been able to tell me how to get the wood trim off?

okay, no sooner do I get the aux input cable in I'm ready to move it! I did go ahead and buy the iPod line-out cable:
![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31jME3kligL._SS500_.jpg)
and a USB CLA adapter:
![](http://www.i-luv.com/upload/product//150/iAD115.jpg)
I'm considering drilling a hole in the rear of the console and routing the aux input there, near the rear ashtray and its CL/12v input. Or, maybe I could install the input at the rear inside wall of the console, to one side of the Bluetooth puck. Then maybe I could rig up a 12v receptacle on the other side.
I'd probably be content to put the Aux input in the glovebox, where it belongs, if there was a 12v receptacle in there. Does anyone know for sure whether that was actually an option on the 209, in which case there's be a knockout, and a DIY???

Alright, I took another crack at this, trying to get that 2104405005 cable either into the console or over to the driver's side: no dice without removing console, which seems silly. It occurred to me while i was taking out part after part, that I can just buy an extension with a much smaller head, then snake that wherever I want. While I was in there, however, I did see some options, I think, for 12v power.
![AUX INPUT-utf-8bsu1hmdaynzuuanbn.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/clk-class-w209/382670d1542322016t-aux-input-utf-8bsu1hmdaynzuuanbn.jpg)
That hole there at the bottom of the shifter seems deep enough to stash a 12v receptacle, and there's a wire that comes off the ashtray cig lighter that looks like it can provide the power:

the two leads are brown and blue/gray....thoughts?
anyway, for now, I settled for another temp solution:

I know the wire-haters are gonna hate it, but it's temporary:

Oh, and for anyone out there that HASN'T already done this mod, once it's done, AUX ACTIVE appears in the dash and AUX INPUT ACTIVE appears on the HU.

Hey, I posted this in the 203 DIY thread too, as it seems I'm all alone lately on this one, lol. I was at the dealership today, and I went to the parts counter to get some part numbers and prices for the 12volt receptacle (cigarette lighter socket), which I want to stash somewhere to power my iPod, which now uses my Aux-in cable. When the parts guy heard I was using an iPod, he asked if I was interested in the iPod adapter cable. I told him that I have the Audio 2o, and that I thought that only the COMAND HU had an iPod option, and he looked up the parts, spun the monitor around to confirm that, yes, that's the Audio20 HU I have, and proceeded to offer me the following parts:
6-7-82-4531
6-7-82-4257
He confirmed that it's for my 2006 CLK350, so what's up? I thought there was no true iPod cable for Audio20?

maybe he's right but for the true ipod cable you will have to connect from the back of your stock headunit ? I dont know for sure but that is the only way I think the true Ipod cable should connect it to.

Will the aux input in the glovebox accept any audio device?
I have the command console and an AUX input on my 2007 ml cdi. do I need a special cable to input from an MP3 player? will my phone still override the other audio? (auto has bluetooth for phone) Thanks for your help!
