Waiting list
- 2003 CLK coupes have a 1-2 month waiting list, about 20 names, CLK320 is easier to get.
- They still have 2-3 2002 CLK500's and 1-2 CLK55's, prices are not discounted much at all
- 2003/4 CLK cabrio has a 4-6 month waiting list, about 60 names
- They still have 4 2002 CLK430 cabrios available, again prices are not discounted at all.
Looks like if I want a new one, it's the waiting list and the $2000 deposit, plus having to pay MSRP.
Waitting lists and waitting period seem to be quicker than I expected. Placed an order for CLK 55 exactly one month ago and the car is on the boat already (will be in dealer's lot in the next 3 weeks).
I am sure you can haggle prices a little when the dealer has the car in their lot. My sales was going to give me a $2000 discount off this silver CLK55 that they have on their lot. But I ended up ordering one with the options/color that I wanted. In this case, I am sure they won't give me any huge discount, maybe just some car accessories.
I would get on the list and order one. While you are waiting, you sales can try to locate one, get a dealer trade if someone decides not to buy their ordered cabrio, or find a car somehow.
I got good quotes from Simonson and Penske. I haven't done anything because I'm still undecided between the 500 Coupe or the 500 Cabrio, the AMG55 is great but I'm starting a business and need the extra money right now.
The guy at House of Imports wants a premium...haha...he can dream on.
The guy who introduced me bought 6 cars over the years from this salesman, and introduced friends for another 10 sales, 2 cars from the office.
Once someone in my old office had an E320 for sale privately, the salesman drove a potential buyer to the office for a test drive. Of course, he got the next sale of a new ML320 and another C240 later. Right now he's looking at an S430, then an E320 for my wife, and probably a CLK for me. He's pretty motivated for sure.
anyways, sweet car! let me know if you want some more info on it. good luck to you!
