I have a clk 500 & that has happaned to me as well.. Err..

 

I had the static again late last week. Turning the ignition off and restarting everything cured it. If this keeps being just a once a year thing, then no worries, but if it gets to be too common, I'll not hesitate to rip things out and go aftermarket.
