Cool Aftermarket CLK63 style front bumper fitment

Hey guys,

I'm just posting pics of the fitment of the aftermarket bumper that is posted on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...item53e2d38276)... I couldnt take good pics with the camera cuz of the reflection from the sun & then it ran out of juice so I'll have to take more later on... next time I'll wash the car before I take pics also...

Yeah definitely, I was planning on washing the car today so i'll try to take a couple more pics afterwards...

I guess I should explain the pics...

Pic #1&Pic #5 (starting from left to right) shows the left middle mounting point. You can clearly see that it's not able to be properly aligned once its been mounted.
Pic #2 &Pic #3 &#4 show the passenger side "flushness" of the bumper with the fender. It's got some spacing difference but not much...I took it to a friends shop recently & he said that it was fairly decent fitment for aftermarket.

I'll take a couple "far away" pics later today! Have a great day off guys...

Well, the fitments does look very good based on your pics. How about some pics from around and bottom of the headlights. If those gap are off, you can't do anything about it, not like the side bumper where you can forces it in with screws.

It fits better than I expected. Do you plan on getting the plugs?

wait a minute, isn't that just a 55 with the vents on the side? the 63 has more of a boxy area where the fog lights are...

It a post-2006 AMG bumper for 500, 55 and 550 with a side vents copied from an 63 AMG bumper. The fitment is excellent based on the pics. I would buy it if it made out of flex fiber glass materials.

My license plate is actually a retractable one...so i can fold it up or leave it down

Yeah, working on the plugs but don't want to buy it from the dealer...any ideas on where I might be able to find a cheap plug?

I'm not sure why the grill looks weird...its the OEM one...maybe because its the 4 slit-type? Advans, the guy who i bought it from, mounted the hideaway plate when he took it off the car...

Yeah, I would agree with you...this material is too inflexible so the rocks on the highway eat away at the paint constantly because it isnt flexible enough... all else fails..I have an oem bumper to replace it with...

Try 3m clear film protection next time if you ever decide to respray the bumper again.

Thinking of buying the same. I am not very aware of prices but isn't it expensive??? I thought that I could find an original used one for the same price, or am i wrong???

So if I were to get this kit, would I still have to get the amg bumper frame?

Probably. The frame is what holds the fog lights in place so I would imagine the frame you have now wouldn't work with the round fogs. You would need the facelift frame.

On these bumper style, the foglight just bolt onto the plastic bumper. No frame or metal bracket.

Cool, but you will still need the 06-09 frame though. The frame with the oval openings does hold the fogs so you wouldn't be able to use it.
