Thanks Pat! The tips came with the Y-Pipe; if you search for SL55 exhaust tips, you can see they come that way.

The diffuser is in! I used it all; glue, tape, foam, blood, sweat, tears.......

Resistor Install
My resistor install was not the most elegant, but it gets the job done. One picture, I tap the back of the stoplight bulb socket. Second picture shows the new resistor (white) tied to the resistor the light came with. Third picture shows how it all looks in the car.

only in germany??? i thought they were aftermarket LED taillights. i thought they were made in china or smth like that...like the one you find on ebay. So MB did produce CLKs with Led taillights??

 

They are aftermarket. Carlos bought them off a seller in the US. That seller no longer has anymore. MB doesn't make these OEM. I found a seller in Germany that sells them. The US seller has a waiting list.

I did a search and found these two companies who sell it with the middle part smoked-like what you have right now-and i'm very tempted to place the order. Just not sure how reliable the part is gonna be from a unknown compnay...but then again it is a company and not a single seller, so it can't be that bad. If a problem occurs perhaps i can contact the company. Lemmie konw what you're gonna do, ill probably follow your lead and buy from the same seller since the US eBay seller does not respond to emails regarding a timing on the tails.

It appears the model is RMB17DLRS for smoke and RMB17DLRC for crystal. Possibly made or resold by Dectane. A web search will find several sellers, one as low as e229 - but that includes sales tax. Perhaps it can be removed if shipped to the US.

 

I bought mine for (Euros) 219 + 75 for shipping.

I received them yesterday. I did a test fit and only the bottom of the light comes on. I need to get the resistors like Carlos did for the brake lights. Hopefully I will have time to do it this weekend.
