It sounds good. What else did you do to the exhaust besides the tips?

Sounds pretty good!!! Not a big fan of the exhaust tip style though, seems like they stick out too far.

the exhaust should be modified...cant get that sounds if he just changed the tips. My guess is he already chop off the resonator.

10x guys for your comments... As I said in the other thread, The exhaust shop just linked another pipe (4.5 cm i think its like 1,77inch) to the initial one and it's coming behind the spare wheel and linked to the tip.
I am not a professionnal but is it the thing I read in some threads called Y pipe???

He told me that it was nearly the same diameter pipe as an AMG model as he took it of an SL 600 and their pipes are comparable.

Andy, I didn't remove the resonater neither the cat...

10x bro... concerning the exhaust i just wanted the look of the DTM tips, they are quite similar.
I know everyone is tellin me it's sticking out but they don't even cross out of the bumper, but the pics are showing another side. because if your looking straight down when your above the bumper you can't even see them...

anyways really happy with the sound looks close to my friends stock 55amg

yeah I didn't imagine that a pipe and two tips would do all this difference. as I was sayin It's quite close to the sound of my friends 55 amg. you should have seen his head when he first heard it... it was just so

if i understand correctly, it sounds like his exhaust shop put a y-pipe in somewhere BEFORE the muffler, so now one side of the Y goes to the muffler and then tips and the other side goes to just tips, so its half a muffler delete....amirite?

because i dont think u can get that sound from just tips...

ahmad, the op did mention the use of a y-pipe somewhere and in the pic u posted, theres no y-pipe. if his setup is what im thinking it is, its pretty imbalanced

well Kev I think what you are right, coz he didn't link it to the muffler coz he told me it won't change the sound due to the muffler. he said it was the only way to have a nice sound without removing the cat and the resonator...I wanted to do it but he advised me not too...
So as I said he linked it from the original pipe after the resonateor and the cat and before the muffler, he cut into the original pipe and linked them both. So I think you have it all right.

I thought it made sense, why did you find it imbalanced??? the result is there no??

your comments will help me know so go on plz

well, if its the setup that i have pictured in my head, half of the exhaust fumes are going through the muffler and the other half are going directly to the tips. if thats the case, the side without the muffler is more free flowing and thats the side that the "noise" is coming from, and the muffler side is just stock.

Ohhh ok I see what you mean, well to be honest while standing beside the car when they finished the work I couldn't hear any difference of one doing more noise than the other even later on I haven't noticed any difference when my friend was driving it so I can hear it from the outside...hehe (wanted to check if it was nice). On the muffler side there is only the tip that have been changed so perhaps thats why I don't hear any diiference between the two of them.

but thanks coz I haven't thought about it like that. anyways I'll be visiting the exhaust shop on saturday so I'll ask him if there is any real difference.

all I know for the moment as I am not a professionnal at doing exhaust is that Iam really enjoying the sound...lol very very happy foot
