Knocking sound from front suspension
I have 2006 clk500 with hr swaybars and springs... It's been 20k miles and I am hearing knocking sounds from both side. Everything is tight and swaybar mounts are ok. I heard there is a bearing at the top of the strut, has evenyone heard these getting loose / going bad??? What else could be causing this sound?
Thanks in advance!

Strut bearing, they do wear out. On another car of mine, when the bearings were worn out it was more of a grindng sound than a knocking.

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
could be a variety of problems....most common being front and rear thrust arms, and tie rods...
the best way to find out is to jack up ur car; remove front wheel and do a manual inspection of the tierods for movement and a visual inspection of the bushings for cracks and leaking fluids.
