Bushings

The rear of my car (2004 CLK320) is squeaking slightly when going over bumps.

Went to MB, I have to replace the two spindle bushings in the back and the total cost is more than $400.

Is it important to change them? I have had this noise for maybe a year. Do these bushings have anything to do with ride quality?

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
Most of your bushings are fluid filled (thrust bushings) they do affect the ride qaulity.

edit: which bushings are you talking about??

I asked. It is the bushing attached to the bottom of the spindle. There is one on each side.
