Keyless GO

Hey Guys,

First Issue:
I got a quick question to see if this has ever happened to anyone.
Last week, I got to work and couldn't lock my door with my key or buttons on the handle. So I replaced the batteries and it worked.

Aren't I supposed to get a low battery warning or something?

Second issue:

After replacing the batteries, everything was fine. I usually get a "key not recognized" every now and then so I guessed it was normal except today I was sitting in traffic and got a "key not recognized" so i went on driving and about 15 mins later my entire car shut off without warning (thank god i was in traffic and at a complete stop) So I had to pull my key out of my pocket, put the car in park and start the car with the key in the ignition.

Now Im afraid to use the "keyless GO" feature. What if this happened, and i was going 60mph.

Anyone ever have this issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
MrAMG55

Second Issue:
2 weeks ago It happen to my 2005 CLK500 with 23000 mi.too while driving in town at 35 mph with KEYLESS-GO sudden the engine shut off just lucky no one behind and no parking car on the right,I pull out to park and pull my key out from pocket and start with key in ignition.
Another problem door will lock or unlock with remote key only the manual key will not work for the door,if the battery dead I wont be able to lock or open door, and the CR2025 (factory recommend) will not work with my KEYLESS-GO it will work with DL2025 only.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Paulinfo.

Good augestion. It'll have to be a hard restart, aka, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes.

If you're doing 125mph on a crowded road, having the car shut down is the least of your worries mate...

Regard the second issue, I am surprised the car shut down. It has to be unrelated to the 'wrong key' issue. I don't think any manufacturer would have it programmed in that way. I can see you cannot start the car the next time 'round.

I have dropped my wife (key in purse) off at the kids soccer and driven a few miles home without any problems except the warning that the key is not detected. The car did not shutoff until i shut it off myself.

Had to drive the other car to pick her up though as i have no spare key.

I had the same problem, but got my only key implanted on the back of my hand after putting in a new battery. That would be good for a couple of years, you wouldn't want to go under full anesthesia every other day now.....

Hay you live in Dubai.... And you know how crazy some of us get every now and then

When I was 21 with one of my mates on his honeymoon in Switzerland back in 1991, he was driving from Geneva to Lauzon and did 320 KM . we were on a Carrera 4 Porsche. That was the fastest I'v been on ground. Truly that was just plain stupid

I see keys go bad all the time. Use your other key. And see if it works any better. But don't have both keys at the same time. I have seen a bad key keep a good key from working. If you don't have two keys get another key.
