need your opinion on hood wraps
i have a black 209 clk350. i have a few scratches and rock pits on the hood that annoy the crap out of me. would it look rice or nice if i wrapped it with carbon fiber? or would you suggest matte black or gloss black?
should i wrap the hood, roof, and rear trunk while i'm at it?
i am open to ideas and opinions from all. appreciate your help and input in advance. thanks...

CF would look sweet on a black car. I'm a bit bias though. If my car was black, I probably would have bought stonecarbon's CF hood a while ago. If you are going to go with matte, you should probably continue the theme with the rest of the car. Not sure about the trunk though.

i have thought of this too but i believe CF hood would be too much. VIS racing has one for like 1000 but i am not a fan of the look though i have lots of CF on my car.
Its hard to add color to a black car. Look at Advans C55AMG and see how he vinyl the middle part of his hood in mate black. I really like it and am thinking to do smth like that this summer.
if you do anything it would be great for me to see...
good luck

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
VIS CF is subpar....personally not a big fan of their products since the day I owned my first import car...so I would not recommend putting it on a MB...unless you mod it to fit properly.
honestly, it really depends on your theme. Some CF vinyl weave patterns look really good. I'll try to dig up some photos of a corvette roof done...looks really good in person.
this was done with 3M stuff....one of our members did this work....just cannot remember his username.

I have heard from a few other people that the fitment of the VIS hoods is off. If I were to go with a hood/trunk etc. I would go with Stone Carbon (Carl). They do awesome work for the C63's. Dads C63 has a few pieces from them.

thanks for your input. i might do the matte black hood and roof. after dynomite was iffy bout the rear trunk, i might just leave that out. any other suggestions? im going to get my chrome trim painted polished black and the front and rear emblem satin black....

the plan is to do all this between thanksgiving and christmas. i posted a thread when i first became a member and you asked for me to post pics. i been really busy lately, but i'll post them up.
matte black hood and roof will follow a good theme with the satin emblem i think....carbon fiber wrap option might be too much. whats your thought?

I have not wrapped my hood in vinyl but i have my mirror covers wrapped in CF and they been through rain snow and summer heat and lots of car washes and show no signs of wear or tear at all.
Most vinyl is supposed to last around 4 years in outdoor conditions so its a pretty good deal if you ask me.
Gives you a new look while protecting your paint at the same time

its vinyl. easiest clean ever. I've had it on for 2 summers, second winter to come. when its dirty, all i need to do is hose off, thats it. no wax, no soap (unless its REALLY dirty)
