Sorry. I didn't mean to sound like a dick. If you do your own oil change it's good to fill it all the way up on the stick. There is no over full warning on your engine but the under full warning can be touchy.

Yes it will. The only resion I say. Is because the old engine (112,113) had a min and max sensor and on the cars that had dip stix you had to be cairfull to keep the oil level right in the middle to compensate for the oil expanding and contracting with tempiture. On the new engines there is only a low oil warning and it's good to fill them all the way up on the dipstick without having to worry about an over full warning comming on in the cluster.

The 550s have 7 speed transmissions that don't have dip sticks. If it were an old 5 speed the tube would have a lock and no actual dip stick.

Is there a way to check it on a 07 550 using the dash as well? I was reading about some hidden settings for dyno, etc. But, not sure if it applies to my model.

I also added a quart today after driving for 8k miles. I never added a drop in my old c230, lol. But, from what I am reading it is normal to add oil if you run these engines hard.
