Looks great! I would say, those wheels wouldn't fit a W209, but they do perfectly. Great job.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!!! Whenever it warms up enough to daily drive the jeep for a few days I'm going to do a How-To on making a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure to fit where the first-aid kit is while still incorporating the kit and adding a small discreet fire extinguisher also.

I do everything to my vehicles myself (less mounting/balancing/alignment bc I dont have the necessary equipment). I've built/carpeted some nice MDF boxes but this will be the first time trying fiberglass. I've been doing the necessary research for about 2 months now on what's involved and it actually doesn't look that bad. It seems like it's going to be like paper mache, but REALLY sticky, and with a LOT of sanding involved. I'm actually looking to incorporate a skull into the box with a MB star in the middle of the forehead holding the fire extinguisher in his mouth.(this is just an idea at this point, I might just do the MB star) But when finished I'm going to take it somewhere and get the box color matched.Also, my dad got me a nice Dewalt table saw for Christmas so I have to put it to use right? haha

This is how it will be set up

Amp Rack( Rockford Fosgate 1000w mono?)---->Skull(maybe)First aid kit/Fire extinguisher----> Sub(kicker L7 12")
The amp rack will be against the passenger side under the partition that folds down for the top.

And I might actually put the amp/amp rack on the driver side to help with weight distribution a little.

I take it you'll pe painting the box then correct? If so, lay down several glass layers one at a time - that way as you build it up you can retain control over keeping it smooth. Also, don't mix too much hardener in with the resin (lots of guys do to get it to set up quickly), it gels very quickly and leaves a big mess of lumps and bubbles that make for a sanding nightmare later.

If you take you time, layer and keep a good resin mix, sanding and icing will be a lot less painless than you think.

Thanks kev, the advice you just gave me is actually what I've retained from all of the research I've done involving this haha. I don't plan on rushing this at all, that way I can set up adequate amounts of thin layers and mix the resin to dry at a decently slow rate, allowing time to correct imperfections as necessary. Do you recommend a certain bondo/filler/filler primer that will lay on smooth and be fairly cooperative when prepping for paint?

James, you are in NJ right? I might have to pass by and take some notes when you start with the fiberglass.

It's been about 6 or 7 years since I've done anything like that James, I can't remember what brands I used. However, all my stuff is in my comtainer that just made port in Dubai, when I get it to the house, unpacked and I find the stuff I'll let you know. There was one really really nice icing I used that saved hours of sanding, just can't remember the name of it.

The more pics I see of those wheels, the more I like them. Doesn't help that I am a huge fan of the BBS LM and those look similar to them.

Yea, these are known as the knock off versions of those. I don't put too much worry into wheel brand names. If they look good, I'm rockin' em'. I tend to want to change wheels about every time they need new tires so the cheaper the wheel, the happier I am haha.

Wait a minute, is my thread turning into a post ***** street corner?!?!
