keyless go-smart key
I recently purchased a 2009 CLK 550 CPO with keyless go. One of the 2 SmartKeys that came with the car will not activate the keyless go features, the other one does it fine.
The dealer first told me that the one of the SmartKeys is not a keyless go key and they will order me one. Three weeks later they have not ordered me a new key and they are now telling me that they have to research whether there is in fact a type of smartkey specifically for keyless go or can all smartkeys be programmed to activate the keyless go features.
Any thoughts?
thanks

Wow. I'm not sure about the exact difference between keyless go and non, but it's kind of surprising that the dealer has to research this seeing as how this technology has been out for years.

this is exactly right. my car came with a non keyless go key (used) and when I purchased the correct key, the dealer was confused as to which key to purchase. In their system there are two types of keys, one is more expensive by like $100. They then told me tha they were going to charge me 4 hours of labor to "activate" the key via their computer system. I drove to the dealer the next day to "activate" it but something in my head told me to use the keyless go key to start the car, so i inserted it into the key hole, removed it and pressed the "start engine" button. it started up! the dealer was going to charge me hundreds of dollars to basically do something i did in 5 seconds.
