Problem with seatbelt presenters in cold weather?

Not sure if it is the cold or not (its in the teen's here in Mass), but my seatbelt presenter seems to act up in the morning or when the car hasn't been driven in a while (cold).
I get in and shut the door and the presenter comes out and goes back in multiple times before staying out for me to grab it. Sometimes it may go back and forth three or four times. If I grab the seatbelt and plug it in it will stop. It's completely random how many times but never more than three or four. Sometimes I think my MB just wants more attention
Anyone else have this problem? Ideas?

I get the same amount of cold weather and have never experienced this problem. I would imagine it's a problem with the belt motor.

Dont think it's a cold issue either! Looks like a wire us doing a false contact or the motor is acting up! If it bothers u just remove the fuse for it

Aww man, that means having to reach back for the seat belt......I dunno how I feel about that. Lol
I'm a bit spoiled, I find myself waiting for the belt when I get into my jeep.

Brought it to the dealer this morning. I think they did a reset on it. We'll see tonight if it still does it. If not I'll check the button. I suppose to check that I could throw it in drive real quick when I get in and see if I get a "door open" message. Thanks for the input

Mine has been doing that for 2 years! Of course, when I bring it in to be looked at, thay can't recreate the problem! I've learned to just deal with it by waiting it out, or quickly grapping it before it retracts.......

Problem is still there. I still think its a cold weather thing. Oddly it only happens once when the car is started after many hours. Then if I run to a couple stores getting in and out all day it won't happen. <Clkcl> -> I dont see any buttons above the latch.. just a metal plate.

those little servo motors are sometimes lubed with a white lithium-looking grease that might get really thick if it's cold enough. If you get the chance to take it apart, look at the track it slides back and forth on and maybe scrape out the old and replace with just a little bit of dielectric grease?
