Question?
When you guys changed your headlights did you still use the same HID bulbs and ballasts?
Did you leave the stock ballast in place or removed it? What about the ignitor and other cables?

The Bix's have their own bulbs and the ballast is located on the bottom I believe. You will probably have a stock 4300K bulb in there. All you have to do is switch out the bulb to the temp you want. You are going to want to take your hid kit out, no longer necessary.

You can't use the aftermarket bulb because the model of the bulb changes with the Bix. I believe the model is D1S. Did your lights come with bulbs? I bought mine from Hidextra for like $90.
The first pic is the stock 4300k D1S bulbs my BIXs came with, the scond is the 6000k bulbs I ordered from hidextra.

I will ask him tomorrow about the window when I take the car back for him to readjust the light height level. Out tonight, I noticed one light is a lot higher (or maybe lower) than the other one.
Also, I am curious about the 'bixenon' feature. When I flick my hi beam stark, the inside (non-projector) light comes on (just like when I had the halogen) and that light bulb is just a regular bulb. I thought bixenon (at least on my XC90), the hi beam and low beam are on the same projector.
Could it be that only xenon fitted from factory can do the bixenon feature. Anyone here check out the working of their xenon lights?

My headlights came of a 2003 CLK320 so my bulb is actually:
2003 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (With HID (high intensity discharge) headlamps)
Low beam headlamp
HID-D2S
and only cost $30 at Hidextra. Niiice

If you got that info from sylvania, it's wrong. Don't make the same mistake I did. Check your bulbs in the lights. If they have a square base they are D1S, if they have a round base they are D2S.

Why wouldn't your ballast work?

You should be able to adjust them yourself. I believe Klinh has a thread with pics. I will see if I could find it.

Yes i just bought my headlights and am waiting to install
I did get it from Sylvania. I checked the bulb and it is indeed D2S
Well considering this is a 2003 CLK they came off from i am not sure if the ballast is near to an end. Not sure how long Mercedes ballasts are supposed to last

Here they are ...
They also fixed my driver window rattled when slammed close. I thought it was like that since it is a pillarless window. They fixed it and now no more rattle when closing.
They charged me $180 for headlights installed and xenon activation. $60 to fixed the window. They said the window regulator would have cost $500.00.

you wouldn't use the D2S ballast for the D1s bulb because D1s has the ignitor
built in integral with the bulb base (the large squarish thing). this improvement
in design negates the high tension lead between exterior ballast winding up to
the bulb....a potential cause of EMI...and resolves other electrical gremlins.

yeah but they dont match with the city LED lights.
I was wondering how the city lights would look after painting the reflector black though. Probably not much projection... I might remove them not sure
