Did that in my IASCA competition cars buuuuuuut.... The spare will be resting peacefully in place in the CLK. Remember, my whole build has centered around a 'factory look', AV system will follow that rule but will be ready to surprise come show time

When I got the car back it was leaning out at a 4500rpm spike, 13.1, a bad MAS was suspected. After the new one was installed the AFR's were better but still a little lean in the same area, a ECU reset later, all seemed to be better. When it went back on the rollers it was making 370WHP at 5300rpm then the dyno would trip out so we weren't able to get any final numbers on it.

Since then I changed out the plug wires because I found that one was cut right through and another was also destroyed. The tune also needs to be cleaned up a little for the high octanne pump gas here and sea level air. When I get the car back I'm taking it to a custom tuner to have a look at it, roll it, Datta log and see what can be cleaned up.

So, as it sits now, it's pretty safe to assume its making 400whp at 6300rpm. Whatever the number is, it's a blast to drive and is an animal on the track, power, braking and handling all balanced
Very nice looking forward to the results. Please do us all a favor though, and just put it down the 1320 just once. Inquiring minds want to know.

Lol, we'll see mate.

I built it for the world class road courses here, not everyday a guy lives somewhere that he can race on a F1 track (YAS Marina Circut in Abu Dhabi). I suppose it would do okay in the quarter, I've got the LSD in it and could launch it decently with some practice. If I do it though it'll be on street tires, as much as I've been know to waste money once in a while I'm not going to spring for a set of DR's

Even if I had an F1 car I would run it down the 1320 just once.

Street tires are the only way to fly. I'm shooting for 12's this season full weight, a/s tires, pump gas, n/a. Nothing being touched, even air pressure. A true "run what you brung."

Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Stopped by West Coast Customs today after I got back from Kuwait and got some crapalicious pics of the car all torn up;

I decided to get a lot more work done than the original plan so the car might be in for an extra week of two

I'm getting near the point that I'm going to forget about doing all the mods I want and just be happy with the car the way it is. The reality is that I hardly ever get to enjoy it. Between traveling outside the country all week every week and having the car in different shops all the time for mods, I hardly ever get to use it.

Going to make my mind up tomorrow to either finish this last job or do the 2 other ones I have in mind. Having a great car you never get to drive is like having a hot wife with no sex drive - both are useless...

Is there anyway you can weigh the car as is stripped to get an idea pre/post gutting?

I sure would like to know how much tonnage is in those seats/facias/sound deadening.....

Our old rule of thumb for 1/4 mile perf.....
it takes 10 hp for .1 sec
it takes 10 hp for every add'l 100lbs
So if you can reduce 100lbs, it is like adding 10 hp.... or cutting 1/4 et's by .1sec.....
this was all based on emperical data in years of racing 2800-3000lb 5spd fox chassis cars.
your results may vary

I would looooove to take my CLK around that track. My second favorite after the Ring.

Funny you mention that because I'm actually having everything weighted that is going into the car, then will subtract the weight of everything being taken out. This will give me an exact figure as to what the actual gained weight is. It's not a 1320 car so I'm not worried about gaining a little weight here and there.

I'm going to the shop in a few hours to meet another guy about some additional work (might or might not go ahead with it), when there I'll see if I can weigh the seats and panels for you.

No doubt that YAS is totally upper echelon when it comes to F1 tracks, amazing layout and very fast. I really love the Autodrome though (Dubai) because its got some vicious corners and the track is up & down - making it very, very technical.

Next time I get out to the tracks I will have my GoPro camera recording the sessions.

Well, good and bad news day today.

The good - the audio install is moving along fairly well and all the cables are now in. It took a while to source and bring all the ones in that I wanted (Monster Cable, XTREME series) but it was worth the wait, no cut corners. Also, I have some new parts ordered that will be here in about another week or so, then they have to be Kewood'ized before being installed. I also had a guy from another shop come by today and take a look at some interior work I'm contemplating, he'll have a quote for me in the next few days.

The bad - the wheels

There is a significant problem with my brand new 360 Forged wheels and they have to be sent back to the US for the issue to be rectified. If 360 Forged stands up and does the right thing in an efficient and proper manner - all will be good and I will be forgiving. The next few days should tell the tale.

No new pics for now and I'm off to Egypt for a week, at least the time will go a little quicker than being here in Dubai checking in every few days

Hey Kev, you think this setup would benefit us Kleemann Kompressor types?

3, an OEM AMG set, a set from Sonic (that are going back - manufacturing/design flaw) and my 360 Forged that I'm reserving judgement on until they rectify the problem. No luck with wheels so far, you'd think for the price I paid for the 360 Forged they would have been built a little better...

It looks like it uses 2 little canister filters, if so, the surface area of the, would probably be quite a bit smaller than what we already have in or E55K airboxes. Besides that, we already draw in fresh air as well...
