Saw the car in person today, the interior is now all back in and soiled to hell, I mean hobos living in an abandoned car soiled. Console panels aren't fitting good, wires hanging out and exposed, power & ground wires attached to the OEM battery terminals like a hack, trunk not finished and what is done is not done anywhere to my standards.
This is going to be a hell of a mess to clean up and get acceptable.
Anyways, the car is at least drivable now so it's finally being moved to the other bay to begin the paint and custom work. After that it will need to go out for a very thorough interior detailing.
I was too disgusted with what I saw to take any pictures. At least I'm seeing a smattering of light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey keep your head up Kev! I had a total hack install a stereo system in my old ML back when I was going to school in Quebec. It was so bad that whenever I turned the volume passed half the bass knocked everything he touched out of place, including the door panels, speaker covers, the center arm rest wobbled, and the wires everywhere were just a mess (not to mention he left a chocolate bar wrapper inside my passenger side door). I spent a full weekend fixing everything and it felt great when it was done properly and I knew that idiot would never touch my car again.

Thanks for all your comments guys, the only rerason I post anything lately is to keep in touch with you guys - otherwise I'd sonner just forget about this car altogether until it get finished.
Car is moved over now, 3 or 4 days worth of paint/paint correction and custom body work to do then it's back in my hands to rip apart, fix and reinstall the audio system.
Getting there...

i hope your car turns out great and amazing!
Hell ya, I want this done quite quickly so I can enjoy it. I'm home so rarely that I really just want to be able to finish it up and relax.
Thats exactly the idea mate![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Thanks, I really took a chance on the wheels and second guessed myself a lot over the last few months but now that they are here, I think they are going to work out really well with my black & chrome on white theme. Ya, lot's of work now but it should all be done within 2 weeks, I'm going to start putting things on tomorrow then it goes into the shop on Sunday.

Front end got primed yesterday (off the car) and will get painted today, going to drop the sunroof out of it and replace the felt liner so that'll add another day or so to this ordeal.
Feel so much better now that it's moved over now though, I imagine I'll have it back late next week barring some additional catastrophe.
On a side note, some of the work the audio clown did is already falling apart. Yep, I'm going to have to pull everything apart and doble check it. Oh well, at least it'll get done right. Might stop by after work and snap a teaser pic for you guys.

1 step forward 3 back dude
The audio clown is at the shop right now going through the list of problems and missing items with the owner - this should be interesting. I have a feeling that after he leaves that will be the last we see of him.
It'll be what it'll be.

If that's the case then it might be for the best, the clown has been working with your car for months and it's still not done... He might try his luck in US again.
There's always a lesson to be learned in everything, so just take this project as it is, experience

At least the Hummer has kept my mind off the damn car for a few weeks, ordering up everything for it today. The CLK and Hummer together would make a cool pic, polar opposites.

Audio clown showed up yesterday and had a meeting with the shop owner, they went trough a list of all the things that need to be finished & repaired - he agreed to everything. Then to everyone's surprise he went downstairs and worked on the car for hours, then left to go pick some stuff up (last two things) to finish it all off and said he'd be right back. The to no ones surprise he disappeared yet again...
Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) I'm going to go have a look at the car before they roll it into the paint booth, if the trunk is at least finished and cleaned up I'll post up a quick pic (I'll put together a full audio thread when it's finally complete). No point in saying it but I always do - don't hold your breath.
