wheels stuck?
hey guys. a buddy of mine asked me to take a look at his front brakes w203 today as it threw a message on the dash.
i figured its pretty standard that front brake pad wear is occurring.
in the process of taking off his wheel, i do the standard method (loosen bolts, lift car, remove bolts) but his wheel doesnt budge. i took all the bolts off but the wheel still doesnt move. it can spin freely.
any ideas on what i should do?
i mean ive heard of rotors rusting on the hub but a wheel?

I had that happen on a Blazer I owned years ago, alloy wheel frozen on. I took it into a friends tire shop and they heated it and the wheel hub from behind with a torch (deflated the tire first of course) and it eventually came off.

Yeah this happened to me when I was changing my brake pads...it was rusted on there it seemed...a firm couple tugs and wd-40 will go a long way...if not...

well i dont want to mess up his wheel. i did try kicking it too. maybe i'll try to kick harder next time.
i had it one an aftermarket jack. i WAS going to use the MB one but i didnt like the idea of it. good thing i didnt cuz i had to kick it.
so i guess kick it harder or bring it to a tire shop?

put a few jackstands underneath it just in case.
when this happens to me, i usually just take a 20 lb sledge hammer and hit the tire a few times. itll come off, just needs some help
