Well I havent posted in a while and I figured I'd share what I've been up to other than hating work/life.

My neighbor gave me this HEAVY steel table completely true and made out of 3/16" angle with 3/8" plates on the legs for FREE, yes FREE
I just let them borrow some jumper cables and a battery charger haha.

Drilled 16 1/2" holes through the plates (that was fun) and put some locking casters on it

Randomly found this big-A** gopher turtle digging holes in my yard- then before fighting him learned the were a protected species and relocated him to a little fishing spot I know of.

Got an old school BA wilton 6" vice off of craigslist for $15!!

Had some MDF leftover from something so I cut this out/routered all the edges with 3 different bits and countersunk some bolts into it

Mounted the two vices and a little 12"x12" 1/4" plate of steel with one bolt inverted for a ground clamp for welding

Wanted to toughen the MDF up a little bit and keep it from staining so I used some polyester resin leftover from the fiberglass speaker box build

Waited for it to get a little tacky and ran a plastic textured roller over it to give it a little grip

Also took some scrap and some parts from the previous cook top and made a campfire grill! I'm planning on using the old motor and fan from the cook top to make a welding fume extractor (pics to follow whenever I get around to actually doing it)

Re-organized my "work-station" and added a desk top that they were throwing away at work. Drilled a hole in the middle to route all of the power cords to a strip with a switch on it.

Thanks man! Yea I really like it here, I've lived in a lot of places but this one is really chill. Primered Goat? Like GTO? '65 tri-power convertible 4 speed? Not that I've been dreaming about that car for years or anything

The Punisher drove a GTO in the movie....... saw you avatar and you skillz and was putting 2 and 2 together! Anyway, nice work, and much respect for the tool skillz.

Learning to weld is on my list.

Thanks man! On the welding thing, a lot of people say to take a class or whatever but if you have a little know-how and free time you can pick up a nice used Mig welder from craigslist or something and teach yourself. I have gotten the flux cored Mig and gas-protected solid wire Mig down and recently bought an old school used TIG machine that I'm currently learning to use. Starting out though MIG is the way to go, waaaaaaay easier. If you get close to buying one or have any questions let me know

I got on a scotch kick a couple years ago and now JW black is the only liquor I'll drink haha. I never thought I'd actually be one of the guys that can tell the difference but I can tell you the brand/year now, usually I stick to the beers though (way cheaper haha)

Well here are some random goings on from this weekend-
- My dog's halloween costume this year : spider pug! Just put one of those posable spiders through his harness, he haaaaaaaaaates it haha.

Decided the shop fan needed some decorations on the blades so I started with this one-

Painted

Also made this little thing last night mainly out of drop pieces. My GF is a huge Detroit redwings fan and she has been hounding me just to make her something so I kind of went with the Niklas Lidstrom theme (and also made it huge and around 30 lbs so maybe this will be the only one she wants me to make haha). The plate with the 2 hearts on it was the first thing she ever welded, and the one with initials is something I did just showing her how to weld.
Notice he is a "red wing" haha. He's also holding a hockey stick but you can't really see it in the photo.

They were throwing this cart away at work for no apparant reason and I happened to drive the jeep that day so naturally it came home with me and is now a welding cart-It's fiberglass too so not too flammable

Put a couple bolts in front to hang the mask and gloves

Added this nifty little torch holder (don't know what it originally was but it came off of one of the previous laptop stands)

Added a board at the bottom to raise the welder a little to be able to open the side and change rolls/polarity etc. I still need to cut off the excess. Also cut a groove for hanging a grinder, added a hook to hold the recip. saw and power cords, used the old drip trays form my cook top as trays and bolted those in the top and bolted the bottle holder to the bottom.

Total cost---$0

Got the car cleaned up before we left

Finally finished my Air cooler/water seperator! I’ve been having some problems with the plasma cutter when water gets in the system so being the cheap A** I am I came up with this.

Air out of yellow tank--->to copper coil--->to bottom of red tank and out the top to a regulator/filter. It works!

Also saw my next project this weekend haha

Haha I was just wondering what my next mod for the car should be-- we might have a winner!

Thanks Kev! That copper soaks the cold air up form the AC really well and should condense the water fairly well and leave it in the ball valve at the end of the drop. This was my first time "sweating" any kind of pipe but it all ended up airtight and I haven't had any moisture whatsoever since installation so

Made the plasma cutting grate last night. Put little spacers in between the grates to hold them still instead of welding them so they are replaceable.

LOL, look at Tyrone How can you dress him up as a spider when he's from the hood? What would the other dogs in the neighborhood think?

Thankfully, none of the other hard-A** dogs saw him.

I like bud light a lot more because when I'm out in the shop I usually drink 600-800 beers so I can't have anything that's too filling. Budweiser is good, just in small amounts, oh and it's more likely to give you a headache the next day haha.

Haha good for Tyrone.
Thanks for the reply James.
Buggs me out that we don't get bud light here nor can import it. I just want to try bud light to taste the difference and also be able to say that I have tried it
