Auto start reset?

When you start your car do you have to hold the key turned till start?
Or just turn then relase and car starts without the need to hold key on On postion.
Wondering if this a a programmed option or something that can easily be reset/ my car stopped doing the autostart. Now I need to hold key until it fires up and really want to autostart to work.

check fuses 31, 52, and 57. after that if its doing the same thing do a battery disconnect/reconnect on the car's battery and let the car reset itself.
